Guest access To get from Bordeaux to Claouey by car: 📍 Distance: approximately 53 km ⏱️ Journey time: 45 to 55 minutes with no traffic. Recommended route: Leave Bordeaux via the ring road (A630). Take the exit for Mérignac / Saint-Médard-en-Jalles. Follow the D1215 towards Andernos-les-Bains. Continue towards Arès then Claouey in the municipality of Lège-Cap-Ferret. ⚠️ In summer, slowdowns are common from Arès and at the Claouey roundabout. Local users recommend passing through this area before 10 am–11 am to avoid traffic jams. 🚆 By train + boat (often the most pleasant option) Take a train to Arcachon. From the station, go to the pier and board a ferry to Cap Ferret (Belisaire pier). The crossing avoids summer traffic jams. 🚌 By bus from Bordeaux The 410 express line connects Bordeaux to Lège-Cap-Ferret with frequent departures, especially during peak hours. ⛴️ Shuttles Regular services cross the Bay of Arcachon between Arcachon and Cap Ferret. The Bélisaire pier is the main point of arrival and departure. 🚲 On site The peninsula has many cycle paths and bike rental services, which are very convenient for getting around between the villages and the beaches.
