Lovely old 2 bedroom cottage
Lovely old 2 bedroom cottage
Description
A timeless Grade 2 Listed cottage stay in the heart of a historic village. The space Step back in time and enjoy the charm of this beautiful old Grade 2 Listed cottage, with origins dating back to around 1450. Full of original character, exposed beams, floorboards and winding cottage stairs, it offers an authentic glimpse into centuries of village life while providing all the comforts you need for a relaxing stay. Once connected to the local Post Office, this cottage has witnessed generations of stories. We hope you'll add your own during your visit. You'll even find a cosy letter-writing corner, inviting you to slow down, put pen to paper and send a postcard or letter—just as visitors and villagers might have done here years ago. Whether you're curling up with a book in the reading nook, or exploring the surrounding countryside, you'll find a peaceful retreat filled with warmth and history. Perfect for couples, friends or small families looking for a unique escape, this is more than just a place to stay—it's a chance to experience the character, history and simple pleasures of an English cottage that has stood for over five centuries and take a wander to the end of the High street to visit the castle built by William the Conqueror! We can't wait to welcome you and help you create memories in this very special home. Guest access Use of the whole cottage Other things to note On street parking. A Note About Our Location Our cottage sits right on the main village High Street, which is part of what makes its location so wonderfully convenient and full of character, after all how many holiday homes have a castle at the end of the street. As with any village property, you may occasionally hear passing traffic, particularly during busier parts of the day. The cottage is a Grade II listed historic building, so modern alterations such as double glazing are not possible. While this means you may hear a little more of village life than you would in a modern, fully insulated property, we feel this is a small trade-off for staying in such a beautiful and characterful historic cottage. If you are looking for complete silence and modern sound insulation, a village-centre cottage may not be the right choice for you. However, if you love period charm, character and being right in the heart of village life, we think you'll find the beauty and atmosphere of the cottage more than make up for the occasional sound of passing traffic.
