Spacious cottage in a nature reserve by Vombsjön

A peaceful oasis in the middle of the nature reserve, equally close to Österlen's fantastic beaches and cultural life as it is to Malmö's rich selection of restaurants and popular entertainment venues. Here, you live one floor up in a bohemian-style studio with both a private terrace and a large balcony with a lovely view of lush greenery. Close to the sandy beaches of Vombsjön, beautiful beech forest and unique cultural experiences. The space About the house: The beautiful Länsmanshuset was built in 1910 and is in a classic turn-of-the-century style with white plaster and a broken roof. This is where your hostess, Helene, lives with her cats, who will welcome you to the garden. The house, which is secluded in the middle of the Öved nature reserve, is surrounded by a large garden with organically grown vegetables, berries and flowers. About the studio: This loft apartment with its own balcony and terrace is a completely separate hideaway, located in an annex building that is at an angle to the large main house. When the house was built in the past, this was its brewery. You have your own entrance via the terrace and your own parking space in the courtyard. This is a unique holiday home, charmingly decorated with thoughtful material choices. The cosy studio has comfortable sleeping spaces for up to four adults, with a 120 cm bed and a 160 cm bed – the latter can easily be divided into two separate 80 cm beds. The spacious terrace and balcony contribute to the feeling of having plenty of your own space in the middle of nature. The apartment has a bathroom with a toilet, bathtub and shower. There are dining tables both inside and outside. For breakfast and simple meals, a small fridge, coffee maker, kettle and all kinds of kitchen utensils are included. The studio also includes a smaller outdoor kitchen on the terrace. Enjoy easier cooking surrounded by beautiful greenery and the chirping of birds. Fresh herbs grow in abundance in the garden, and you are, of course, welcome to enjoy them. Take the opportunity to taste the many varieties of currants and the mulberries from the large mulberry tree too! Here, you also have access to a fire pit with a barbecue. From the balcony, you can see the water surface of the bird-rich wetland, and on the other side lies what is known as "Sweden's finest rococo palace", an 18th-century estate with its own palace gardens, which are open to the public every day of the week. The surroundings are made up in all directions of an impressive old beech forest – home to the rook, the short-eared owl and the white fallow deer, which often pay a visit to the garden. A four-minute walk through a fairytale-like beech forest takes you to the sandy beaches of Lake Vombsjön, where you can enjoy wonderful swimming and beautiful walks in the scenic surroundings. A rowing boat is available for hire at the small harbour in Öved, where you can also purchase a fishing licence. If you'd like to venture further from the village, it's 30 minutes to Ystad Havsbad, 40 minutes to Malmö, and 50 minutes to the beautiful Stenshuvud National Park and Kivik. Ten minutes to several grocery stores, pharmacies and off-licences. If you're going to travel further, it's 30 minutes to Sturup and 55 minutes to Kastrup.
