Skeppsmalenfiskeläge cottage with boathouse & waterfront property

Description

Unique 19th-century cottage in the heart of Höga Kusten. Experience Skeppsmalen's authentic fishing village with the sea, the mighty cliffs and hiking trails right at your doorstep. Carefully preserved original charm, private jetty with wooden deck and private lakeside shed (locked). The space • Fully equipped country kitchen with preserved charm • Living room with fireplace and sofa bed • Bedroom with double bed • Bedroom with two single beds • Toilet with shower To preserve the peace and quiet of the old fishing village, we welcome well-behaved guests. The space Welcome to one of Skeppsmalen's original fishermen's cottages from the 1800s – a carefully preserved cottage with genuine charm in the heart of one of the Höga Kusten's most idyllic fishing villages. Here you live with the sea right next door and have access to a private jetty with a wooden deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee, the evening sun, or just listen to the sound of the waves. The boathouse itself is used for storage and is therefore not available to guests. Skeppsmalen is a vibrant fishing village where historic boathouses and small red houses coexist with year-round residents and summer guests. From the cottage, you can reach several of the area's most beautiful hiking trails, including Sälstigen and Lotsstigen. At the lighthouse, a fantastic view of Ulvön, Trysunda, Grisslan and Högbonden awaits on clear days. Follow the blue markings over the mighty cliffs and find your own spot for swimming, a picnic, or a magical sunset. If you prefer a sandy beach, Stubbsand is just a few bays away - about a 50-minute walk through the forest or a short drive. In the village, you will find the Surströmmingsmuseet (Herring Museum) and the restaurant Fiskevistet, where you can enjoy pizza, ice cream and other dishes with the sea as your neighbor. In the bay next door is the Röda Ulven herring factory, and Skeppsmalen is still an active fishing village. If you're lucky, you can buy freshly smoked whitefish directly from one of the local professional fishermen. If you want to take a day trip, Örnsköldsvik is only about 20 minutes away, with restaurants, shopping, Fjällräven Outlet and a water park. At a convenient distance, there are also Skuleskogen and Skuleberget – two of the most popular nature experiences on the High Coast. Welcome to Höga Kusten – one of Sweden's UNESCO World Heritage Sites ❤️ Guest access Everything except the inside of the boathouses Other things to note NOTE: You may NOT use the stoves in the bedrooms on the upper floor. It is possible to make a fire in the living room fireplace. No loud guests. Stag parties, hen parties or noisy groups of friends are not allowed, as the houses are close together and sound travels easily. Between 10 pm and 7 am, it should be quiet. Parking is available, and information will be provided at booking.
