We offer a private, upstairs, detached 1 bedroom (queen bed) furnished apartment with a deck that is beside our home. It is a second floor apartment with stairs. Only 2-3 blocks from restaurants, hiking, and fishing, 15 minutes north of the Air Force Academy & Colorado Springs. The upstairs apartment is located beside our home, in the beautiful neighborhood of the Palmer Lake town. We are down the road from access to the Palmer Lake Reservoir hiking trail and Pike National forest to the west, and the actual Palmer Lake and Santa Fe hiking trail 3-4 blocks to the east. The Colorado Renaissance Festival runs weekends June - July or July-August and is just a few miles north. The apartment is in its own building with a small outdoor sitting area/patio near the entrance and a deck with French doors off the living room. It is a full 1 bedroom with queen bed, bath with shower, open kitchen, dining & and living room. There is a fold-out single chair bed that will fit a child and a teen or adult can sleep on the couch (it is comfortable but not a couch-bed). There is a safety gate at the top of the stairs to the apartment. If an infant comes, please bring your own baby bed. The apartment is NOT baby-proofed. Internet is included. There is a TV with local channels, streaming hookup to the TV, and a DVD player. The bedroom and the main room each have air conditioning, but often an open window at night is all that is needed in our area of Colorado. The cleaning fee is included in the basic price! The entire upstairs apartment is yours! One of us is available a majority of the time, and always available via phone. We'd love to visit with you, but if you are looking for privacy that's fine also! We are also close to the Palmer Lake Town Hall and Library and a small Village Green that includes the original town jail. When you arrive, in the apartment is a list of all of the "walking distance" restaurants, including an ice cream shop, Mexican, Italian, a coffee and breakfast/lunch shop, a steak and burger bar, and a casual restaurant overlooking the lake. In Monument (3 miles east) are many more restaurants (Black Forest deli, Texas Roadhouse, Mexican, Pizza, Rosies Diner, several Chinese, etc) and grocery, drug, and all of your other stores that most communities have, like Walgreens, Kohls, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. we are in the neighborhood with other homes around us but the views are great and again, you are only blocks from forest trails and natural parks. There is no public transportation available in the Tri-Lakes area, although you could arrange a cab/uber/lyft from Denver or Colorado Springs. Car rental would have to be arranged from Colorado Springs or Denver. Being located on the Palmer Divide, we do receive snow, but happily, our road is one of the first to be plowed, as well as Highway 105 that leads the 3 miles to I-25.
