Award-Winning Skye Longhouse with Sea Views
Award-Winning Skye Longhouse with Sea Views
Description
An award-winning contemporary Highland longhouse with sweeping sea and mountain views, set in a peaceful corner of southern Skye. Designed by the founders of Dualchas Architects, the house combines dramatic double-height interiors, a central wood-burning stove and expansive windows that bring the landscape inside. It sleeps four and makes an atmospheric base for exploring Skye—or simply staying in and watching the weather cross the water. The space This award-winning house was designed by Dualchas Architects founders Neil and Alasdair Stephen. Inspired by the traditional Highland longhouse, it is arranged as a simple, single-room-deep form with a central hearth and a dramatic interior open to the roof apex. The result is a house that feels unexpectedly generous the moment you step inside. Double-height spaces, open-plan living and the near-total absence of corridors create a wonderful sense of light, volume and calm. Large windows frame the ever-changing sea and mountain views, allowing the landscape and weather to become part of the experience. Whether the sun is shining, rain is moving across the water or mist is settling over the hills, Làrach na h-Iodhlainn is a beautiful place to slow down. Light the stove, pour a dram and enjoy the comfort, stillness and atmosphere of this special house. Guest access There is ladder access to a loft area but this is for storage and not to be used by guests. Registration Details HI-31675-F
