Guests consistently love its comfortable beds, spotless interiors and relaxing feel. The main bedroom has a king-size bed with a Simba mattress. There is ample storage, with clothes hanging space and a chest of drawers. This bedroom enjoys views over the front garden, harbour and out to sea. The smaller bedroom has two single beds with Emma mattresses, clothes hanging space and a chest of drawers. The shower room has a large walk-in shower, basin and WC. There is also a washing machine for you to use during your stay. The modern, practical kitchen/diner enjoys views over the rear garden and includes a dishwasher and kitchen tap with an integrated water filter. The large living room has a three-seater sofa and armchair for guests to relax after a day enjoying the local area, along with a log burner (available October to April) and a TV with a Fire Stick, so you can stream your favourite shows. The cottage is equipped for a comfortable, easy stay, whether you are here for coastal walks, beach days or simply to relax. The front and rear gardens are fully enclosed for privacy and peace of mind for pet owners. Both have seating for four, allowing you to make the most of the morning and evening sun, weather permitting. Opposite the cottage is a large green with a small football pitch. It is a great place for children to play, and you can keep an eye on them from the nearby benches or while enjoying drinks at the pub. Located directly next door to Harbour Lights Gallery, opposite The Sloop Inn and just moments from The Shed Bistro, you are in a private spot while remaining close to everything. The harbour, coast path, ice-cream shop and gallery are all just a few steps from the front door, with convenient parking close by. Morning walks around the harbour with a coffee in hand, or evening strolls after enjoying the local eateries, are right on your doorstep. While Porthgain is a lively harbour village during the day, guests have found the cottage pleasantly quiet at night. Guest access Guests have full and private access to the property. Other things to note Porthgain is a busy working harbour, and it is not unusual for fishermen to be using the harbour from early in the morning. There is a pub opposite the cottage, which has outdoor drinking and dining during the summer months. The Sloop Inn and The Shed Bistro are particularly popular in season, so we recommend booking ahead where possible. The caretaker may need access to the grounds during your stay for routine maintenance and waste collections. We will always aim to complete this while you are out, to avoid inconvenience or disruption. The wood burner is available for guests to use from October to April. A starter pack of logs and kindling is provided; further supplies can be purchased from the shops listed in the house manual. Porthgain is a wonderfully rural location, so please plan ahead for food essentials. The village has a pub, café and fish-and-chip shop, but no general food store. We leave a welcome pack of local produce from Paddock Farm Shop, including milk, bread, jams and a small sweet treat. You can visit Paddock Farm Shop to stock up further. The nearest convenience store is at the filling station in Square and Compass, around a 10-minute drive away; supermarkets and a wider choice of shops are further afield. Gallery Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage.
