A warm and welcoming family home

A warm and welcoming country retreat where nature, creativity, and simple living come together. Wake up to kangaroos grazing on the lawn, explore nearby forests and country towns, paddle on the dam, collect fresh eggs from the chickens, and enjoy a lively and warm hearted family home surrounded by nature. Whether you’re looking for a scene change or a base for outdoor adventures, our home offers a kind and community-feel country experience with plenty of space to slow down and reconnect. The space Our home is simple, comfortable, and lived in. There are times when it’s filled with music, dancing, and laughter, and other times when it’s wonderfully quiet. Sleeping arrangements are intentionally simple. All our rooms (including ours) have very comfortable mattress/es on the floor rather than bed frames. The only raised beds are a set of children’s bunks in one of the guest rooms. Around the property you’ll find: * Beautiful forest nearby and easy access to local country towns. * A large dam with kayaks available for guests to use. * Herbs and seasonal greens growing in the garden. * Friendly chickens, with fresh eggs to collect when they’re laying (less common during winter!). * Plenty of space for tents. * The option of sleeping in our caravan, located under the carport. (Please note it has no insulation, electricity, and you’ll need to enter house for toilet facilities, so it’s best suited to warmer weather—or adventurous winter guests!) As this is our family home, it can sometimes be wonderfully tidy and sometimes reflect the joyful (messy) reality of living with a young child! We simply ask guests to: * Clean their own dishes, benches, and table after use. * Sweep or wipe the floor if you’ve made a noticeable mess. * Let us know as soon as possible if anything is damaged or stained so we can help. Before confirming bookings, we like to learn a little about you. The qualities we value most are open and honest communication, kindness, respect for our shared home, and consideration when sharing the space with a young child. Our household is usually asleep by around 7:30 pm, so we ask guests to keep noise to a minimum after this time. Guest access Guests can use laundry and laundry toilet, living room, their bedroom/s, kitchen and shared bathroom (with shower and bathtub) and explore the large property including forest and kayaks on the dam. For the past three years we’ve hosted wonderful local and international guests through Workaway, and in 2026 we’re excited to begin welcoming guests through Airbnb as well. Our home is part of a friendly little community, with neighbours and friends dropping by from time to time. I’m a musician, so you may occasionally hear singing, instruments, or music drifting through the house. We also share our home with Willow, our friendly Cavoodle, who absolutely loves people. If you’d like to play with her, she’d be delighted if you throw a ball—that’s her favourite game, but we ask that only balls (not sticks or other objects) are thrown for Willow! We hope guests leave feeling like they’ve experienced a genuine slice of Australian country family life (not manicured or perfect- a bit messy at the edges as is life with a young person/and life in general- and full of genuine love of human connection and curiosity to learn) and community.
