La Chicca – a little gem in the historic centre

Right in the heart of the historic centre, and yet tucked away, you will find "La chicca", one of the oldest houses in the town. The house is centrally located but still quiet, and it is charmingly nestled with other buildings of authentic origin on a characteristic piazzetta. All shops for your daily needs are within easy walking distance: - two restaurants - small supermarket - Fruit and vegetable traders - Bar - Pharmacy, post office - Magazine shop - Butcher's, cheese shop The space - A typical exterior staircase leads to the second floor, where the main living areas are located. From the hallway, there is direct access to the living room, the double bedroom, and the kitchen. The bathroom and the single bedroom are accessed from the kitchen. - The cozy and well-equipped kitchen-living area invites you to cook and linger. - The spacious bathroom with natural light has a toilet and bidet, as well as a spacious shower. - From the living room, an interior staircase leads to the attic, where there is a large, bright sleeping area with two single beds. - There is access to a basement room where there are seating furniture and a table for outdoor use, so you can also enjoy your time outside. - In summer, too, the house maintains a pleasant temperature thanks to the thick stone walls. In cooler temperatures, it can be comfortably heated with two easy-to-use pellet stoves (pellets are gladly provided if required). The price already includes bed linens, towels, dish towels, as well as the costs for electricity and water/sewage. DIRECTIONS: - By car, you can reach us via the A1 motorway; if you are coming from the north, the best exit is “Valdarno.” From here, you drive through the picturesque, hilly landscape of the Valdarno Valley over the Crocina Pass into the Casentino area. Coming from the south, the “Arezzo” exit is a good choice. From here, follow the SR71 towards Bibbiena and then small provincial roads directly into the valley. Other things to note The Casentino mountain valley is one of the most unspoilt and wooded regions of Tuscany; a jewel for those seeking peace and quiet, hikers, cyclists and nature lovers! The nearby Foreste Casentinesi National Park, which extends as far as Emilia Romagna, offers great hiking opportunities. Throughout the Casentino, there are small mountain villages where the so-called "Sagre Toscane" take place over the course of the summer. These are local, culinary folk festivals where you can enjoy authentic and regional specialities in a convivial atmosphere. The accommodation is centrally located between Bibbiena and Arezzo and is ideal for day trips: - Arezzo (approx. 20 km): one of Italy's largest antiques markets takes place here every first weekend of the month, as well as the "Giostra del Saracino", a historical knight tournament with medieval origins, twice a year (June/September) - Florence (approx. 60 km): also easily accessible by train from Arezzo - Siena - Poppi: here stands the majestic castle of Count Guidi, where Dante found refuge for a short time - "La Verna" monastery complex: a mystical, spiritual-looking monastery and pilgrimage church on a rocky slope, where St Francis is said to have received the stigmata of Christ in 1224 - Camaldoli: a historic monastery complex and hermitage where monks still make products from secret recipes in the monastery pharmacy - Anghiari - Caprese Michelangelo: this is the birthplace of the famous artist, now a museum - Rapolano Terme: a well-known spa town famous for its hot, sulphurous thermal springs Registration details IT051038C23RJOTTOY
