Welcome to Holzerath! Want to enjoy the tranquility of our apartment in a suburban location? As the owners and family, we live in the same house and look forward to seeing you. The apartment captivates with spacious, calm rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a view of the countryside. Perfect for nature lovers, peace seekers or business travelers who appreciate a clean feel-good atmosphere. Vacationers passing through on their way south are also welcome! The space We are Johanna and Markus, and we bought the house from the 80s four years ago and have largely renovated and refurbished it. At that time, we lived in the now newly furnished vacation apartment ourselves and had our first child. Since then, the projects and plans have not diminished; the family has grown, and we love the constant dynamic of changing our house and the large property and adapting them to new needs. That's how we got started with AirBnB! We often feel like we are on vacation ourselves and would like to share this feeling with you! It's important to us that you feel comfortable from the start. If you are missing anything during your stay, we can be reached at any time in the house or around the house and will deliver any necessary materials or utensils immediately! What you can expect so far: Sleeps up to 5 people for restful nights. We have two bedrooms. There is a large double bed (180 x 200 cm) and a small double bed that we recommend for couples or parents with small children (120 x 200 cm). In addition, the couch in the living room can be used as a sofa bed, and we are happy to provide an extra mattress for a 5th person. Bed linens and towels are in the bathroom always included! In the living and dining room, a cozy couch with coffee table invites you to relax in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. From here, you can also go directly onto the terrace, which offers a sweeping view of our garden and the forest. We've already spent many balmy summer evenings here and celebrated parties – above all, our wedding! There is also a spacious dining table here with space for up to 6 people The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, pots, pans, kettle, coffee machine and everything you need for cooking. Wellness bathroom: Very spacious, equipped with a separate shower and large bathtub. Towels, a hairdryer and soap are provided by us. Holzerath and the Ruwertal offer you pure relaxation right outside the front door: Lake Holzerath is only about a 20-minute walk away – perfect for cooling off and sunbathing in summer. It can also be reached by car. Sunday special: Every Sunday there are fresh grilled items and cool drinks directly on site from 10 am! Here, you benefit from the proximity to the Roman city of Trier (journey time 20-25 min), the Moselle, the Ruwer Valley, Luxembourg and the Saar-Hunsrück region. Hikers, cyclists, nature lovers, those interested in history, culture, and cuisine, wine lovers, and families will all get their money's worth here. Countless hiking trails (e.g. Dream Loops) and cycling routes start in the immediate vicinity. Interesting for families: There is a playground and a sports field nearby. Pure nature - Enjoy sweeping views over the countryside and breathtaking sunsets directly from the terrace. As our guests, you have exclusive access to the entire lower floor and the adjoining terrace. Bicycles can also be safely parked and charged here. Guest access The apartment has its own private access. You can easily reach the apartment via a staircase that leads down into the garden. There, your separate entrance awaits you, which leads into your own hallway with a spacious cloakroom area. If you are traveling with children, your little ones are welcome to try out the playground equipment of our own children in the garden – the absolute highlight here is the large double slide! Recreation right outside the door: A great paved path runs directly below our house. This is perfect for children to learn to ride a bike, try inline skates or just play. Other things to note Especially during the current hot summer periods and heat waves, the apartment is a cool place to retreat! Here you can escape from the hot big city! If you would like to wash some clothes, please contact us. For a service fee of 5 euro, we will gladly do a machine load of laundry for you! You are currently still using our Wi-Fi access, and the signal is sometimes weak. Those who want to stream over our Internet are currently not well served with us 😉. Instead, you will find peace and quiet here for reading and a digital detox.
