The Bothy, with a natural swimming pool

The Bothy is a totally unique and charming studio apartment, set in the rafters of a barn on our farm. You can swim in the natural swimming pool on your doorstep. There are fields beyond for walking or cycling. It's a wonderful, peaceful setting for those who want to get some calm space. Fresh air in the summer, cosy rural retreat in the winter. It can also be used as an extra double annex to our other holiday let, the Luxury Barn on AirB&B. The space The Bothy is located at Turley Farm; a family run farm where we rear rare breed cows, hens and pigs. We also have horses, a couple of sheep and a slightly mad dog called Hilda and now her even more excitable daughter, Sybil. We love having people to stay and giving them an opportunity to unwind, relax and enjoy the good things that country life has to offer. The highlight is a natural swimming pond at the foot of the steps that lead up to the Bothy. Not only for the very brave who embrace cold water swimming in the winter months, but also for those of us who enjoy swimming in the summer. It's heaven and you'll never want to swim in a chlorinated pool again. There is the opportunity to visit the beautiful Cotswolds which are on the doorstep, Oxford, which is ten miles away, Blenheim Palace which is just down the road...or just stay on the farm and potter. The walls of the Bothy are lime washed; a traditional plaster which enables the building to breathe. We have installed underfloor heating which keeps the Bothy at an ambient temperature, which can be made warmer on colder nights with the woodburning stove. There is also WiFi and a separate shower and loo. This is a brilliant extra space for those renting the Small Barn here at Turley Farm (which accommodates six) who might want accommodation for eight or who might want to be near to the Small Barn, but wish to be separate. Perfect if an older couple wants to escape the family frenzy in the barn, for example. Ben tends to a productive veg. patch in the walled garden. In abundant Autumn there's more than enough to go round; fresh tomatoes, basil, courgettes, squash..whatever's in season. Guest access You are able to walk around the farm fields and are very welcome to use the natural swimming pool which is at the bottom of your stone steps, up to the Bothy. Here you can relax, read, have a glass of wine, play in the pool. You can also say hello to the animals; pigs, cows, horses, hens, dogs and cats. There is ample car parking on the farm which is well signposted. Other things to note The Bothy provides the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of town; 60 miles due west of London, it's so accessible and easy to find. Quiet, tranquil and a natural swimming pool on your doorstep. A very romantic get away.
