The Old School Wolverton, The Railway Room

The Railway Room (Queen size bed, downstairs), has a private bathroom accessed via the kitchen and is accessible to users with limited mobility. Your room comes with fresh bedding and towels. The Guest House offers two communal areas: a cosy living room with a table for six, a comfy sofa and arm chair and plenty of reading material, as well as a kitchen including a large fridge/freezer, hob, oven, storage, toaster and microwave. The space The Old School is a Grade 2 listed building, and has a unique character and feel. It has been decorated using recycled/upcycled furniture (apart from the beds which are brand new!) and unique fabrics designed by young people. It is located in a village location, directly opposite open countryside and very close to the Grand Union Canal. We are committed to environmental sustainability, and much of the guest house has been designed with that mission in mind. We encourage guests to support our aims by using locally available public transport and products, minimising their waste and recycling, and considering their energy use. We are currently planning the installation of solar panels, and already have an electric car charging point, which is available to guests. You can read more about our ethos in our Green Policy. Guest access You have full private use of your room and dedicated bathroom. The entrance, living room and kitchen are shared with the guests of the other two rooms. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and store their own food, but are expected to leave everything clean for other visitors who might be staying in the house at the same time. The guest house is run by a remote team and we will let you know our emergency contact details. You might interact with the other guests of the house. During your stay Guests book online and receive information about access via email ahead of their stay. At the end of their visit, they return the key to a safe place, and the guest house team clean the room and change bedding and towels ahead of the next visitor. While there is a 24h number for emergencies, guests are encouraged to enjoy their stay independently and should not necessarily expect to meet a member of the Old School team. This means that there may be people coming and going from the Hall next door. All activities are over by 10pm.
