The Trig on Mt Arthur

The Trig is an architect designed self contained eco cabin, accommodating up to 4 guests. This stunning, award winning getaway has amazing views over mountains to the sea. It offers organic breakfast provisions, art supplies, musical instruments, pre packed gourmet meals, library, ipod, DVDs, and record player. Relax and enjoy! The space Nestled on the slopes of Mt Arthur, overlooking the village of Lilydale in Northern Tasmania, The Trig offers a stunning retreat in a natural, peaceful environment. This unique architect designed space is well appointed and blends contemporary and retro furniture, mixed with eclectic found and recycled objects. Up to 4 guests can be accommodated, with a separate queen bedroom and a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge area. French flax bedlinen and Sheridan towels are supplied, plus there is an electric blanket on the queen bed for the cooler nights! This sustainable artistic accommodation is powered by its own solar energy. It is only a 20 minute drive from Launceston and its pristine surroundings make it the perfect place for a rejuvenating getaway. The Trig is located in a secluded area on a 9 acre bush property. Dine on the deck while enjoying amazing views across the rolling fields and bushland to the Tamar River and Bass Strait by day, and spectacular sunsets and starry skies by night. Awake in the morning to the sounds of birds and watch the native wildlife grazing at your doorstep. Take a walk on the property or continue up Mountain Rd to follow the Mt Arthur track to the summit (5 hrs return). Curl up in front of the wood fire with a book, DVD or music. Included are breakfast provisions including organic granola, fresh farm eggs, sourdough bread, local milk and a selection of teas and organic local coffee. Prepacked gourmet meals are also provided for purchase, as an easy option for dining in! Indulge yourself or your loved one with a warming soak in a roll top bath under the stars. Relax by the wood burning fire, plenty of firewood and kindling etc is supplied to keep you cosy. Instructions are provided, but if you need assistance happy to help....please ask! Please note as we are an off grid property, the wood fire is your sole heating, but is sufficient to heat the whole house. Guest access The Trig is solely yours during your stay, so peace and privacy are assured. The other home on the property is some distance away and behind trees, so not visible from the Trig. Other things to note Lilydale is only 20 minutes from Launceston, in the heart of the Tamar valley wine route. We are a short drive to the Lavender Farm and Barnbougle Dunes, Hollybank reserve and Lilydale Falls. Clover Hill, Jansz and Pipers Brook wineries are nearby. Lilydale (5 mins away) is a small community with all amenities... IGA supermarket, cafe and takeaway, a cool vintage and collectibles shop, newsagency, petrol station and post office. Lilydale tavern serves great meals, but note it does not have a bottleshop or takeaway liquor available. Black Stallion pub in Rocherlea 20kms towards Launceston is closest, otherwise Dan Murphys and several liquor outlets are in Launceston....so BYO is the go!
