The Stable Wing

Chris and Phil have lived at Lealholm Hall for many years and welcome you to stay in the annex cottage with its own front door. Kids will love our big garden, field and wild places. Parents will love the peace and quiet of this tranquil place. Beaches are a short drive away, and great walks are nearby and further afield. During the summer school holidays we only accept Saturday to Saturday bookings. The space The Stable Wing is a converted self-catering holiday cottage which is available to visitors. The cottage is attached to the owners home, a Georgian ex farm house. Lealholm Hall as a Victorian farm was a popular location with the Victorian photographer Frank Meadow Sutcliffe whose photographic porfolios are available locally. Dinning/kitchen : The kitchen is fully fitted and has a double oven electric cooker, table and chairs, a washing machine, fridge freezer,micro-wave, kettle and toaster The lounge : The lounge is lofty, featuring a galleried mezzanine on which there is a sofa that converts into a double sofa bed. The mezzanine forms the second bedroom. There is a French window which opens onto the cottage garden. There are two very confortable sofas in the lounge. It has a T.V./DVD player, C.D./ Radio. There is very good Wi-Fi. as we are on fibre optic cable. It has a Morso multifuel stove and also has full central heating. A starter pack of logs is provided for the multifuel stove. The bathroom, which is on the ground floor , has a shower cubicle , W.C. and a wash basin. Sleeping arrangements: There is one separate bedroom where there can be either a king sized bed, or two or one single.A travelling cot is available. The second sleeping area is on the mezzanine over the lounge with a sofa double bed and topper for extra comfort. Both the bedroom and the mezzanine are accessed by the stairs, and both have separate doors off the landing. Guest access There is a large parking area which is approached along a short private track. Guests will have access to the cottage lawn which is accessed through the cottage French windows, and access the large field garden. There are dinning tables in each garden and plenty of seating. Our large pond is home to birds and other pond life. You will also see bats at night, hear our tawny owls and with luck see our ghostly local barn owl. On our clear nights the stars will impress. Other things to note Down the hill, in the village there is a garden centre, traditional pub and well stocked and friendly village shop and Post Office.
