Tucked away in practical Arlesey (we won't pretend it's the Cotswolds), Lavender Cottage is a lovingly restored gem that punches well above its 36m² weight. The station is a 25-minute stroll (35 minutes straight into London). There's a characterful corner pub with live music that locals actually go to. Proper takeaways—Chinese, Indian, fish and chips—all three minutes away, plus a handy shop. And when you fancy something more polished, the gorgeous market towns of Hitchin and Letchworth Garden City are just 9 minutes by car. Best of all? Peaceful countryside walks along a babbling stream, where you'll remember why you left the city in the first place. Guest access You'll have the whole cottage to yourself. Self check-in via lockbox means you can arrive on your schedule (from 3pm onwards). Check-out is 11am—just pop the keys back through the letterbox when you leave. I'll send detailed instructions before your stay. Other things to note Please note: I live next door with my dogs, who may bark if they hear activity around the cottage. They're friendly but vocal watchdogs! Combined with the lively corner pub with live music, this cottage has character and convenience—but it's not a silent retreat. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this might not be the best fit for you. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath—perfectly hot and powerful for a refreshing start to your day.
