Charming cottage within A Neolithic Stone Circle

Description

Peaceful character house inside the Neolithic Avebury Stone Circle, sleeping up to 8. Three bedrooms, reception with wood burner, well equipped kitchen, conservatory dining area, pretty garden, superb views over the stones at front and rear. Perfectly located for exploring Avebury; Silbury Hill, West Kennett Long Barrow, Swallowhead Spring and the Ridgeway walkable from the front door. Ideal for families, couples or groups, with opportunities for walking, cycling, retreats or simple relaxation. The space You will have the house to yourself – it is spacious but has a cosy cottage feeling with wooden floors and cosy receptions with wood burner. The conservatory makes a pleasant dining space beside the well-equipped kitchen (the table only easily seats six; there are spare chairs in the attic). There are two double bedrooms on the first floor: a large front master room overlooking the Cove Stones with a comfortable king size bed and TV, a delightful rear bedroom overlooking the garden and Sun Circle and the Avenue in the distance - this room is set up with a comfortable king size bed but can be changed to twin beds as needed. The third bedroom is an attic room with double sofabed and a view of the stones. PLEASE ADVISE how many rooms and which bed arrangements your party requires. The bathroom has a luxurious shower and large bath. There is a second toilet downstairs. Towels ARE provided (for some reason towels aren’t an option on Airbnb’s amenities list!) The downstairs front reception room has a good quality double sofa bed and can be separated off with glazed doors. There is up to 35Mb broadband and wifi in the house and a home cinema projector for TV, with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now etc, as well as the usual channels. There is a second toilet downstairs. The garden cabin provides a pleasant office or space for relaxation and quiet contemplation - it also has en exercise bike. The cabin and garden have wifi coverage. The garden is private and fully contained when the side gate is closed, with several places to sit and eat out in good weather - including a sun-trap patio and a shaded seating area. Please note there is a very small pond. The garden even has its own mini stone circle! Guest access Guests will have access to the whole house, garden and cabin/office. Other things to note Everything you need is provided - towels, toilet rolls, shower gel, basic shampoo etc (for some reason AirBnB don’t include towels in the list of amenities). Depending on other bookings I can sometimes be flexible on departure and arrival times if arranged in advance. While Avebury is a popular visitor destination, this is not intrusive - the house has a secluded private garden and most visitors leave Avebury by late afternoon - at night the skies are dark and all one generally hears is the occasional hoot of an owl! The Street in front of the house only provides access to 5 houses, a farm and the Ridgeway, so is generally very quiet. The thatched Red Lion pub (apparently the only pub in the world in the centre of a stone circle!) is a very short stroll from the front door, which some consider an advantage!
