Spiti Octopodia (Octopus House)

This is a combination of a traditional Greek island house with contemporary features, e.g. the 'mousandra' loft visible in the pictures. There are two patios, a lower one outside front door and an upper terrace. The views from the entire property, set in the fertile, quiet village 250 m. above sea level, are absolutely magnificent, of Kira Panagia beach below, the island stretching northwards, and the island of Rhodos four hours (by ferry) distant. The house is no more than twenty minutes from the port town of Pigadia, and the three gorgeous beaches of Ahata, Kira Panagia, and Apela. You can rent a car ahead of time for pickup, and then drop-off, at the airport. To access the beaches in the northern half of the island, you'll need a four wheel drive rental for the day.
