Historic Country Estate - Large Rm

Come to stay in our historic country home. Huge bedroom with triple aspect windows, private bathroom & large, comfy bed. Delicious, home-cooked breakfast included. Roam the 37 acres of beautiful, woodland, kitchen garden & main gardens. Outdoor pool & tennis court. Close to lovely town of Faversham. Within 30 mins of Canterbury, Rochester and coastal gems like Whitstable. Not far to superb restaurants like The Sportsman, Wheelers and Jo Jos. Other rooms sometimes available, please ask. The space Lynsted Park, our home, was built in 1599 for the daughter of Sir Thomas More, Henry VIII's councillor, and it was the grand seat of the Earls of Teynham for centuries. In the 1800's it was given a Georgian make-over and was made into the family-friendly home it is now. In the 1960s Terry Nation lived here and wrote Doctor Who scripts and invented and built the Daleks in the walled garden! The house is set in attractive gardens within 37 acres of parkland with woods, a courtyard, a walled garden containing a tennis court and swimming pool. Your bedroom sits in the Georgian wing and has large windows on three sides with views over the grounds and surrounding countryside. The large room has a very comfortable super king-sized bed with luxury linen and can easily accommodate your own travel cot (no charge) or we can add a travel cot (suitable up to 2 years) for £10, or a single bed for a child for £20 per night per child. If you are travelling with children or close friends there is a small double bedroom with queen sized bed available next to this large room. We ONLY rent it to those who rent the large room so that the bathroom remains private to your booking. Just ask when you make your enquiry. At certain times of the year there may be other rooms available in the house. Guest access Your room is on the first floor and accessible by your own private back staircase. The compact, cosy bathroom has a large bath and a power shower (within the bath) for your exclusive use; it is very close to your room. You are in a wing of the house that offers privacy and we feel this is important for both you and us. Downstairs, there is a large, fully equipped kitchen which you may use to make hot drinks and simple meals. We are a family of five, and we may be using the kitchen regularly but we can easily work around each other. The garden and grounds are free for you to roam and you are welcome to picnic (in summer, garden rugs, tables and chairs are available) and use the tennis court pool and ping pong table. From June-October there may be fresh fruit and vegetables that guests can use from the kitchen garden. We have a range of books, puzzles and children's toys so please ask if you would like to use these. We can arrange for another room to be available, perfect if you have a child or other close family/friend with you. During your stay We would be very happy to give you guidance about what to do in the local area and can recommend restaurants.. We have a list of things to do, places to see/where to eat to help you plan your trip. We both work so we are not available every moment of the day Other things to note We have a lovely Bernese Mountain dog, but we're aware that some people may have allergies or just not like dogs, and we wouldn't want that to be an issue. We always offer a full refund should your plans unexpectedly change, (please note Airbnb do not refund their fee).
