The Woodman was originally a pub dating from around 1750. Our charming four-poster room is located in the oldest part of the house and is full of character. Reached via its own private staircase, it offers a peaceful and cosy retreat, ideal for a relaxing stay. Guests have exclusive use of a private bathroom serving this part of the property. An additional double room on the same floor is available for extra guests at an additional charge. Ample off-road parking is available. The space The Woodman is a Georgian Cottage and is a haven of peace and tranquility in the small Oxfordshire hamlet of Highmoor. The Woodman was originally a pub for over 150 years, with parts dating back to the 17th century. Located just 5 minutes drive away from the beautiful historic riverside town of Henley-on-Thames and many local country gastro-pubs. The property offers free WiFi, free private parking, as well as great walks and cycling in the stunning Chiltern Hills/Thames Valley countryside. Just a short walk away there is our local pub on Witheridge Hill called The Rising Sun who serve great food and offer a warm welcome. Henley is only 5 minutes drive away and has an excellent range of boutique shops and restaurants, and the famous award winning River Rowing Museum where there is always something going on. Oxford and Windsor are roughly half an hour away and both Stratford-upon-Avon and the Roman city of Bath about 90 minutes - easy drives or by train. The Woodman is in the perfect country retreat to make your home and to explore the local countryside, historic towns and cities that are close by. We are very happy to recommend and local places to eat and help wherever we can. Highmoor is close to Nettlebed and is 5 minutes from the historic, beautiful riverside town of Henley-on-Thames. Just opposite we have lots of beautiful beach woods and countryside to walk and ride in. We have plenty of parking. During your stay We would be delighted to recommend places to eat and visits or anything else you may find you need during you stay at The Woodman. We often take guests into and collect from Henley when we are available. Other things to note We have charging for Electric vehicles, 32A Blue (single phase) Commando outlet, so you will need youre own cable but you are welcome to use.
