Pietre di Luce is a spacious 15th-century residence, recently renovated and divided into 5 apartments, combining the charm of history with modern design and comfort with green technologies. It is located in the medieval village of Pianetto (Galeata), in the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, along the Via Romea Germanica, a medieval road now restored, which pilgrims traveled from Germany to Rome. It borders the Foreste Casentinesi National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The space The "La Torretta" apartment consists of a large open-plan living area where you will find a sofa bed and a flat-screen TV, a dining area with an equipped kitchen (refrigerator, induction cooktop, sink), an extendable table, and a covered terrace. On the same floor, there is a double bedroom with a balcony and a full bathroom with a large shower and a hairdryer. An open staircase in the living room leads to the loft area where you will find the second double bedroom and a full bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The apartment is equipped with free Wi-Fi. Other things to note In Borgo Pianetto, there is a bar that also serves American-style breakfasts and aperitifs, and a restaurant. Alternatively, in Galeata, which can be reached by a short walk through the countryside, there are bars/bakeries, a pizzeria, a piadineria, and several restaurants. A few kilometers away there are other small historic towns (Santa Sofia, Civitella, Cusercoli, Spinello) where you can taste local specialties in the many establishments open all year round. In Pianetto, you can visit a 15th-century church and the Don Mambrini Civic Museum, which houses the artifacts from the Roman site of Mevaniola. With a walk among the pines, you can climb to the Romanesque abbey of Sant'Ellero, dating from 497 BC, or visit the Byzantine mosaics of the Palazzo di Teodorico. From Pianetto, you can reach several scenic trails: the main ones include the Sentiero degli Alpini and the Via Romea Germanica. A short trip takes you to the Casentino Forests National Park (Mount Falterona, 1660 m above sea level), which, together with the Sasso Fratino Strict Nature Reserve, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is part of the Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Other Regions of Europe. In summer, you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Bidente and Rabbi rivers, which are full of natural pools and waterfalls, or spend a day at the spas in Fratta, Castrocaro, or Bagno di Romagna. The Romagna coast is about 1 hour away by car. With day trips, you can visit Ravenna, Urbino, Ferrara, Florence, Arezzo, Bologna, Venice, San Marino, and numerous historic villages in Romagna, Tuscany, and Marche.
