Fabulous views of the countryside known as Watership Down, But great position for lots of interest (see below). 10 minutes down the back doubles to Newbury. Also easy to access A34 for Oxford and Winchester. We are also 15 minutes from M3 and M4. The space Tranquility and stunning views. We moved here for just that and have been here for 25 years. If you want more action, driving 10 minutes round the back doubles you can be in central Newbury with its bustling restaurants and bars. Kingsclere 5 minutes away is a great village with a lovely gastro pub, cafe, and if you’re staying longer and want to cook a great butcher and general store. People come from Basingstoke to go to the hairdresser in the village! The Keepers Flat Book in the apartment will give you all kinds of information you may need during your stay from restaurants to walking cycling in the vicinity. We do not Host infants/children as the apartment is not suitable for them. Guest access Self contained flat within gated private property. Guest’s just have access to the flat. Not suitable for babies or children. Other things to note Here are things to do in and around the area Visit Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) The Vynne in Basingstoke For theatre /concerts Also In Basingstoke The Anvil Theatre for concerts etc The Watermill Theatre in Bangor Newbury. Watch a performance in a converted mill -absolutely stunning interior, outside have drinks in the pretty gardens, eat in the Theatre restaurant or nearby in the award winning Blackbird Inn The Sandham Memorial Chapel Is around the corner from us in Burghclere. It’s a world famous chapel containing Stanley Spencer’s visionary masterpieces. Newbury Racecourse - year round racing Bombay Sapphire Distillery This is in Whitchurch a 15 minute car ride away. The distillery is housed in a red brick mill. There are organised tours and tastings - perhaps better to go by taxi!! Kintbury A pretty village mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Has a great vibe. Visit the church, take an eco walk along the canal and stop at The Dundas Arms for lunch or a drink just 20 minutes from us down the A34/A4. Basingstoke Canal 15 minutes away. Developed in the 18th Century, known for its peace and tranquility. 32 miles of walking - choose your section! There is a Visitors Centre, and you can hire a row boat to get the full immersive experience!
