Newly refurbished November 2025. A lovely double room with TV, WIFI, mini fridge and a spacious WC/shower room. Situated on the ground floor of a 17th century cottage directly opposite Jane Austen's House and next door to The Greyfriar pub and the café Cassandra's Cup where breakfast is available. Double bed can be twinned into two singles. The space Chawton is one of the prettiest villages in Hampshire. From the cottage there is access to many country walks. It is also within easy access of several other historic villages and towns such as Selborne (Gilbert White's museum), Alton (The Watercress Line), Alresford and Winchester. This property is very old and retains some of its original charm. Please do not expect air conditioning, power shower, underfloor heating or anything else high tech! Its true charm lies in its location! It is warm and cozy - but otherwise very simple! Guest access Breakfast is available at an additional cost in the tea rooms next door. Cassandra's Cup tea shop is renowned for it's quintessential charm and afternoon teas and also serves delicious light snacks and hot meals throughout the day. Check in by lockbox. Other things to note Free WIFI. fridge, microwave and a kettle with tea bags and coffee to make hot drinks as well as a small set of crockery and cutlery. Please also note that breakfast is not included. An 7.5kw EV charging point is available at an extra cost. Please enquire.
