The balconies both steal the last part of the evening sun and are best enjoyed with a glass of fizz! The house is a short walk from the breathtaking sandy beach of Beadnell Bay and the small fishing harbour. There are a wealth of outdoor activities on the doorstep (quite literally) from building sandcastles and rockpooling on the beach to kite surfing, paddle boarding and surfing in the bay, walking the coastline, playing golf on local 'Links' courses and bird watching. With the close proximity of the Farne Islands, there are a large number of popular dive sites close by including the Somali, a ship that was bombed in 1941. Two recommended companies for watersports are Boards and Bikes and Active 4 Seasons. Boards and Bikes are a company that can hire and deliver equipment (Boards, wetsuits, bikes) to your accommodation and also run lessons and courses in various watersports. Active 4 Seasons offer a kayaking and canoeing coaching, guiding and expedition service. Northside Surf School offer beach surf lessons on several beaches along the Northumberland Coast including Beadnell Bay. Courses start at 2 hours and go up to 5 days and are run by Jon Nolan, a British Surfing Association Coach and an RLSS Beach Lifeguard so you know you're in safe hands. They operate 7 days a week and 12 months of the year and cater for all needs. There are many wonderful places to eat in Beadnell with great beer gardens and the Landing down the beach path ( 5 mins from House) serves food and drink including alcohol and is amazing. Nearby Low Newton has the 'Ship inn' famous for fresh crab sandwiches, kippers and lobsters. There are wonderful fish and chip restaurants in the next village, Seahouses. Fresh seafood can be purchased at 'Swallows' of Seahouses and amazing oysters can be delivered to your door by Lindisfarne oyster company. Guest access There is a keysafe on the property to enable access and if there are any problems during your stay then someone will be contactable to help and will gladly be of service. A spare set of keys will be inside the property on arrival. We advise using these and replacing keysafe set. If keys are lost then keys in the keysafe can be accessed at any time. Beadnell is accessed by car from the Northumberland Coastal Route, which is signposted along the whole stretch of coastline. It lies a couple of miles South of Seahouses and can also easily be accessed using the A1. Postcode for your SatNav: NE76 5BW Beadnell is a stop on the Arriva 'Newcastle - Morpeth - Amble - Alnwick - The Coast - Berwick' which is the service between Newcastle and Berwick on their X18 route Other things to note The Landing at Beadnell down the beach path is open all year around and serves delicious crab sandwiches and food/drink including alcohol. Please see our in house guide for more local activities and restaurants but do not miss Beadnell Towers a boutique new pub/restaurant in the village! We are dog friendly.
