Charming cottage in a mini-farm.
Charming cottage in a mini-farm.
Description
La Bergerie is a real green setting where you can come and recharge your batteries in the calm of my mini-farm. Nature stay with guaranteed disconnection. 20 minutes from Saint-Lô, you are ideally located for visiting Normandy. There are many possibilities: Mont Saint Michel, the landing beaches, Sainte Mère Eglise, Cherbourg and the Route des Caps, Bayeux (the tapestries), Caen (Peace Memorial), the Mortain waterfalls, or the sea. Every day, a discovery! The space La Bergerie is a charming little 25 m² cottage with all the comforts for a relaxing stay, and so it is equipped with little technology... In the kitchen, you will find a 3-burner gas stovetop as well as a small set of cooking utensils, a kettle, a toaster and a coffee maker. There are also some basic groceries at your disposal (oil, vinegar, spices, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee filters) Depending on the season, you can find fruit, vegetables and eggs that the garden and the farmyard can offer us. For your meals, you have a worktop with 3 bar stools or an outdoor space on the terrace. In the bathroom, you will have towels available as well as a hair dryer. And a vintage clawfoot bathtub that you can tell me about. The toilet is a dry toilet. Don't worry if you're not familiar with these; they have only one difference from water toilets: you pour in sawdust instead of flushing. If it is necessary to empty them during your stay, I will tell you the location and the procedure (very simple, you'll see) For your nights, a 140 x 190 cm bed is located in the main room. And if you're "team blackout," the sheepfold is equipped with blackout curtains to extend your peaceful sleep. Outside, there are 2 terrace areas depending on your desires and the time of day. Why not also have a picnic at the foot of our century-old linden tree? You may see our horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits, geese, goats, our cats, and Tyrias, my faithful canine companion. Your pets are welcome as long as they are sociable. And this is at no extra charge for your stay. Guest access La Bergerie is an isolated and self-contained building within the farm. Your peace and quiet will be preserved. However, you may come across me if I am working in the garden or when I arrive and leave. I am also present a few days a week with my 8-month-old twins, so it is not impossible that you might see a stroller wandering around ;-) Other things to note 1/ Winter period: The shepherd's hut is equipped only with a wood-burning stove as a heating source. It will be turned on for your arrival, but you will have to feed it and turn it back on in the morning on your own. Everything you need (firelighters, kindling, logs) will, of course, be at your disposal. Like any home heated with a wood-burning stove, the temperature drops at night when the fire goes out, and it takes a little while in the morning for the room to warm up. 2/ Composting toilets: The shepherd's hut is equipped with composting toilets. The principle of use is simple (I could explain it to you if you are not familiar with it). At the end of your stay, you will need to empty them at the location I will show you. 3/ The Bergerie is an old stone building. Even though I clean before every rental, you may see a few spiders. They are tenacious and seem to like this place. If you are sensitive to their presence, I'd rather you know. I know this can make a stay uncomfortable, if applicable.
