A mountain bike is recommended; you just need to stay on the towpath to discover exceptional sites. Indeed, the Vallée de la Somme cycle route runs along the towpath for 90% of the river, up to the Baie de Somme. The towpath has been converted along almost its entire length into a peaceful and comfortable cycle path. We let ourselves be guided by the flow of the water and enjoy the historical and natural riches of the valley over 160 km. The route is dotted with exceptional natural sites. These include, among others, the marshes of Méricourt-sur-Somme or Samara, but also the ponds of La Barette in Corbie or the Cavins marsh in Bourdon, which evokes the memory of Hector Malot's novel En Famille. Everything has been designed for the comfort of cycling tourists: picnic areas, bike racks, establishments with the Accueil Vélo label, etc., and the old lock-keeper's houses, which are gradually being renovated, are ready to welcome you.
