The old downtown area is full of the atmosphere of the Showa era. You can reach restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, coin laundries, etc. on foot. You can access scenic tourist spots such as Mt. Tendo, Cape Noto, and Lake Abashiri in about 10 to 30 minutes by car. In addition, there are tourist spots with even more spectacular views such as "Bihoro Pass", "Lake Kussharo", "Lake Mashu", and "Shiretoko and Shari" that are 1 to 2 hours away.
