Comfortable Nature Lodge De Roerdomp

Situated on a quiet country road, in the midst of the green landscape of the Gelderse Poort, is the nature lodge "Roerdomp." Directly adjacent to the Rijnstrangen nature reserve, this charming property is an excellent location for those who love hiking, biking, and enjoying nature. The lodge is fully equipped for a relaxing stay and features private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy sitting area, and underfloor heating. Outside, you can enjoy a large sun deck with a wood-burning stove. The space The lodge has been sustainably built using wooden materials and various recyclable components. The striking wooden arch structure gives the accommodation a warm and distinctive feel. Inside, you will find a comfortable double bedroom, a cozy seating area for two, and a compact kitchen equipped with, among other things, an induction stovetop. In addition, the nature cottage has its own bathroom, comfortable underfloor heating, and French doors leading outside. Thanks to the large glass front, you will enjoy plenty of light and direct contact with nature. On the unique sun deck, you can enjoy the surroundings in peace and quiet and raise a toast together to a relaxing vacation. De Roerdomp The name of this lodge refers to the bittern, a unique bird found in marshy areas. This shy, heron-like bird is known for its excellent camouflage among the reeds and its distinctive, deep “hoomp” call. Thanks to its yellow-brown plumage, it hardly stands out in the landscape. When danger threatens, it adopts an upright posture, making it almost completely invisible in the reeds. From the deck of the nature house, you have a chance to hear or even spot this rare bird in the surrounding nature reserve. Guest access The rural apartment is in the middle of the Gelders Island in the heart of the Gelderse Poort. There is a lot of peace, quiet and space and little infrastructure here. It is possible to reach De Rijnstrangen with a neighborhood bus, but we recommend coming with your own transport. The access route follows a beautiful dike road to the location of the apartment at the Rijntakken Nature Reserve. Parking is available at the private/own parking area located at De Rijnstrangen. Other things to note The nature cottage is located on the small-scale nature campsite De Rijnstrangen. Throughout the year, you will be warmly welcomed and welcomed. From March to October, guests also stay at the small campsite (who, like you, come for peace, nature, and relaxation in a green setting), and you can regularly meet us for a friendly and informative chat about the beautiful, nature-rich area where you are staying. This is also possible from November to February, although you will see us at the campground a little less often. It is possible to book De Roerdomp in combination with a private camping pitch (for a compact RV or motorhome). Peace, space & nature This lodge is particularly suitable for guests who want to escape the hustle and bustle and are looking for peace, space, and nature. Hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers can fully enjoy the many trails and nature areas in the area. There are also plenty of opportunities for culture and history. Due to its location near the German border, places like Elten, Kleef, and Emmerich are easily accessible. In addition, cities such as Arnhem, Nijmegen, Doesburg, and Doetinchem are a short distance away and are definitely worth visiting.
