Description

SnapTin is a Victorian quarryman's cottage bursting with vintage-style and just a 5-minute walk into town. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it makes the perfect retreat for couples, gals and pals, with two bedrooms, two shower rooms and a tub. There's even parking - something of a rarity in central Bakewell. The space Our cottage has been carefully renovated with new wooden sash windows, restored gritstone fireplaces, and a wood-burning stove in the sitting room. The compact kitchen has everything you need, including a large Smeg fridge. Two good-sized bedrooms each have their own shower room, and there’s even a tub in the attic bedroom - perfect for a soak with a G&T after a day of fresh air! The cottage is brim-full of small makers and vintage finds. We are also blessed with some wonderful food producers across our region, and in the cottage you'll find some beautiful pantry items for your use, as well as some delicious homemade or local products to grab a light breakfast. Typically, we like to keep a range of locally grown and cold-pressed oils, homemade granola, sourdough, gorgeous organic milk fresh from the farmgate, and locally roasted coffee. As a Yorkshire woman, the tea can be none other than Yorkshire Tea, mind! Guest access Our guests have use of the whole cottage. The gardens to all our cottages are south facing and open with a nod to their roots as allotments for the quarrymen families. Quite a few of us are dabbling in veg (lettuce and gooseberries may be as good as it gets for you with my green fingers!!). There’s a lovely little outdoor seating area and to the rear is a courtyard where bikes can be securely stored. There is one dedicated parking space. Other things to note The staircases in the cottage are painted and the middle set in particular is quite steep and narrow. Very typical of quarryman cottages, but something to be mindful of if you (or your pet) have any mobility issues. Slippers will certainly come in handy! Access to the rear courtyard is either through the boot room (which is lower ground floor) or down the rear access track from our small car park.
