The Hillside Cottage is a curated space to reset, reflect, and unwind. A place to spend your days strolling the beach, fishing along the pier, sipping craft beer, or enjoying a meal at one of the many great local restaurants. Located just blocks off the water, our 1920s era cottage is nestled within the historic Lakeside neighborhood of Muskegon. A quick walk to grab ice cream, and just a bit further to restaurants, bars, and shopping. Best of all, the beach is just a five minute drive away. Located at the top of the hill, you can look down the street for views of Muskegon Lake. Our charming 3 bedroom home has room for you and your friends or family. The bathroom and kitchen are freshly renovated with new floors, a custom tiled shower, and new countertops. All that Muskegon has to offer is just minutes away. Please note that we have a STRICT no smoking and no party policy. The house is all yours while you're here. Feel free to use the record player (with care) and help yourself to anything you find in the fridge or kitchen cabinets. Off street parking is in front of the house, just to the left of the front porch (paved driveway belongs to the neighbors). Guests may also parallel park in front of the house during warmer months. No overnight street parking in the winter. Access the cottage via the combination pad on the front door. Check-in is anytime after 3pm. Guests will be given an access code just prior to check-in. I will be available to answer questions via text or e-mail. Whether taking a trip to the beach, checking out the breweries downtown, or exercising your adventurous side at the Winter Sports Complex, our cottage is the perfect spot for some relaxation, anytime of the year. Lakeside is a historic neighborhood that offers access to shopping, bars, restaurants, and bike trails along the water. The Lake Express high-speed ferry to and from Milwaukee drops off passengers in Lakeside. A handful of public beaches are within a very short drive or a 30 minute walk. Check out our guide book below for our favorite places to visit in Muskegon. — Historic Note: Buster Keaton and his family spent summers at the Actors' Colony, a community of vaudeville actors that gathered during the summer when bookings were down. It was located just a 5 minute drive from the Hillside Cottage. "The best summers of my life were spent in the cottage Pop had built on Lake Muskegon in 1908." - Buster Keaton The Cottage is located just over a mile from the Lake Express High Speed Ferry and mere blocks from the Muskegon Lakeshore Bike Trail. Bus service runs from Lakeside to downtown. Downtown Muskegon is a 10 minute drive from the Cottage. Pere Marquette Beach is a 5 minute drive. Free parking is very easy to find around Muskegon. Pere Marquette Beach has paid parking kiosks. Use #HillsideCottageBnb to share your photos and share the love.
