The space 🌞 Is it very hot in tipi (even in scorching weather)? Nearby trees and air circulating around the tipi bring a little freshness, even on sunny days (and in hot weather!). The canvas opens from the bottom and lets in a draught. For cooler nights, blankets await you inside. And if you like, we provide fans. Private & Unlimited Nordic 🏊‍♀️ Bath When you arrive, in summer, the hot tub water is about 25-27°C. In the summer, the water heats up easily during the day and lends itself to a refreshing swim, like a small pool. And in the evening (or during the day!), when the air cools, we take full advantage of the warmth of the bath. The fire temperature rises takes about 30-45 minutes to reach 40-45 degrees Celsius. Domaine de Thironne brings together several accommodations in the same place, in the heart of Le Perche. The Manoir and its Suites, the independent Cottage and tipis by the water. Outside, the estate spans several hectares around its lake. Paddleboarding, pedal boat, kayaking and boat are available. Hiking trails start directly from the estate, from the short walk to the big walk in the forest. Pétanque, outdoor games and plant labyrinth punctuate the days. The Domaine is the perfect place to celebrate, meet and breathe, where everyone keeps their privacy within a vast estate open to nature. Traveling in a small group? The estate has two other tipis on the edge of the same lake. The Mekong tipi, like Nil (this place), accommodates 2 people and also enjoys its own private Nordic bath. The Amazon tipi accommodates up to 4 people (1 king size bed 180 x 200 cm and 2 single beds) where the Nordic bath can be added at extra cost, depending on the availability of neighboring tipis. 🏊‍♀️ The pool on the estate is reserved for the hosts of the Manoir and the Cottage. Here by the lake, your private Nordic bath awaits, heated by wood fire. 🐶 Dogs are welcome at the estate, by prior agreement. A flat fee will be paid for €30/stay. The estate is not fenced, so we count on your vigilance to keep them with you, kept on a leash, especially near the lake and other hosts. Swimming area is not allowed for pets. Guest access 🚗 How do I get there The Domaine is located in Montigny-le-Chartif, in the heart of Perche, in Eure-et-Loir. Very easy access by car via the A11 and then the Perche roads. Allow about 40 minutes from Chartres (40 km), around 1.5 - 2 hours from Paris (≈150 km), 1 hour from Le Mans (≈85 km) and 35 minutes from Châteaudun (30 km). 🚆 By Train The nearest train stations are Illiers-Combray and Brou, about ten kilometers away. For an arrival from Paris, the most convenient option is Chartres station (≈40 km), connected to Paris-Montparnasse in about 1 hour, or Nogent-le-Rotrou station (≈30 km), also served by Paris-Montparnasse. We can recommend a local taxi from the station. 🚲 By bicycle The estate is also close to the Véloscénie, the bike route connecting Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel, ideal for guests traveling by bike. Solar 🌞 electricity to charge your equipment in the tipi and benefit from lighting (private bathroom, tipi, subdued lighting for the terrace) 🌿 Your luggage is dropped off to the tipi in a small electric cart, to avoid carrying the suitcase. Nordic 🏊‍♀️ bath, how is it different from a hot tub? The hot tub is heated by wood fire, not electricity. The water remains calm, without jets or bubbles, for a moment closer to nature than a jacuzzi. We settle in between 37° C and 40° C, we take advantage of the heat for a few minutes, then we leave in the open air before coming back. This alternation between hot water and outdoor freshness prolongs the relaxation, without engine noise, just the crackling of the wood. The included hot tub is exclusively for hosts of this tipi. You can use it at your leisure at multiple times of the day. 🥐 Every morning, breakfast is served from 8 am to 10:30 am. On the menu: pastries, hot drinks, juices, yogurt, charcuterie, cheeses, and a selection of jams and juices from local producers. Breakfast can be enjoyed as you wish: a takeaway basket at the tipi, or a place at the table with the other guests, at the mansion. ☕ A Nespresso machine is available in your tipi as well as a hot water thermos.
