The space 🌞 Is it very hot in the teepees (even in heatwave weather)? The nearby trees and the air circulating around the tipi provide a bit of coolness, even on sunny days (and during very hot weather!). The canvas opens at the bottom and allows a breeze to pass through. For cooler nights, blankets await you inside. And if you wish, we provide fans. 🏕️ Can we enjoy sleeping in a tipi in the fall? Of course! To make the most of the experience, even when the nights get cooler, each bed is equipped with a heated mattress topper, a nice warm comforter, and two fleece blankets. Everything you need for a cozy and comfortable night, nice and warm in the heart of nature! 🍁 🧖🏻‍♀️ A private Nordic hot tub with unlimited use, in the heart of autumn Imagine yourself immersed in warm water, surrounded by the golden colors of autumn, with the lake, the forest, and nature changing with the season as your only backdrop. Upon arrival, your private Nordic hot tub awaits you. Heated by a wood fire, it allows you to adjust the temperature to your liking. Allow about 30 to 45 minutes of heating to enjoy delightfully warm water, which can reach 40 to 45°C (104 to 113°F) depending on the conditions. At the end of the day, when the air cools, the contrast between the coolness outside and the warmth of the hot tub becomes a truly blissful moment. An experience to be savored as a couple, at your own pace, with no time limit. 🌳 Fall at Domaine de Thironne In the heart of the Perche region, the Domaine de Thironne transforms in autumn. The trees are adorned with shades of gold, copper and orange, the lake reflects the colors of the forest, and the days invite you to slow down. The Estate features several accommodations within a vast natural park: the Manor House and its Suites, the detached Cottage, and three tipis set by the water. This is the perfect season to enjoy simple pleasures: a walk in the forest, a stroll around the lake, a game of pétanque, or a few moments by the water, wrapped in a blanket. For the more adventurous, paddleboards, pedal boats, kayaks and rowboats are available, depending on the weather conditions. The hiking trails accessible directly from the Estate allow you to discover the landscapes of the Perche region, between undergrowth and country lanes. ✨ A break to reconnect and breathe At the Domaine de Thironne, autumn is an invitation to take your time. Wake up facing the lake, listen to nature, enjoy the warmth of your Nordic bath, and return to the comfort of your teepee after a day in the great outdoors. Each accommodation offers privacy, within an estate where space and nature play a key role. 🍁 Are you traveling with a group? The Domaine has two other teepees located by the same lake. - Like the Mekong tipi (this accommodation), the Nile tipi sleeps 2 guests and has its own private Nordic bath. - The Amazon tipi can accommodate up to 4 people, with a king-size bed (180 × 200 cm) and two single beds. A Nordic bath can be offered for an additional charge, depending on the availability of the facilities. A great opportunity to share a stay with friends or family, while still enjoying the pleasure of each person having their own cozy space. Autumn at the Domaine de Thironne is the joy of slowing down, warming up and fully enjoying nature.🍂 🏊‍♀️ The estate's pool is reserved for guests of the Manor and the Cottage. Here, by the lake, your private Nordic bath awaits you, heated by a wood fire. 🐶 Dogs are welcome on the estate, by prior agreement. A flat fee of €30/stay will be payable. The estate is not fenced, so we count on your vigilance to keep them with you, on a leash, especially near the lake and other guests. Pets are not allowed in the swimming area. Guest access 🚗 How to get here The Domaine is located in Montigny-le-Chartif, in the heart of the Perche region, in Eure-et-Loir. Very easy access by car via the A11 and then the roads of Perche. Allow about 40 minutes from Chartres (40 km), around 1 hour 30 minutes–2 hours from Paris (≈150 km), 1 hour from Le Mans (≈85 km) and 35 minutes from Châteaudun (30 km). 🚆 By train The nearest train stations are Illiers-Combray and Brou, about ten kilometers away. For arrivals from Paris, the most convenient option is still Chartres station (≈40 km), which is connected to Paris–Montparnasse in about 1 hour, or Nogent-le-Rotrou station (≈30 km), which is also served from Paris–Montparnasse. We can recommend a local taxi from the station. 🚲 By bicycle The Véloscénie, the cycling route that connects Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel, passes through Montigny-le-Chartif, the village where the estate is located. It follows the section between Illiers-Combray and Nogent-le-Rotrou, via Frazé and Thiron-Gardais. An ideal stopover for cyclists. ️ Free parking is available on-site. 📍 What's close by At the gateway to the Perche Regional Natural Park, the estate is surrounded by villages, castles and hiking trails: - 10 min away: Illiers-Combray, the village of Marcel Proust, with Aunt Léonie's House (Marcel Proust Museum) and the Pré Catelan garden (≈8 km) - 10 min away: Frazé and its castle, ranked among the "French People's Favorite Villages" (≈8 km) - 12 min away: Brou, its market and its old town center (≈6 miles) - 15 min away: the Abbey of the Holy Trinity of Thiron-Gardais and its gardens, as well as the former Royal College (≈13 km) - 15 min away: Château de Villebon (≈12 km) - 30 min: Nogent-le-Rotrou and the Château des Comtes du Perche (≈30 km) - 40 min away: Chartres, its UNESCO-listed cathedral and its old town (≈40 km). Until January 3, the cathedral and about twenty other sites are illuminated every evening after dark, with Christmas decorations from the end of November. 🍂 Fall in the Perche The season has its events, just minutes from the property: - In October: guided tours focused on autumn colors at the Boiscorde Arboretum in Rémalard (45 min) - Throughout the season: the Senonches Forest (45 min), one of the largest in France, for long walks - In December: the Christmas market in Nogent-le-Rotrou (30 min), with artisans and creators from the Perche region Ask us for the week's schedule, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction. Other things to note 🛌 Sheets, towels and bathrobes are provided for each guest in the teepee. 🌞 Solar power allows you to charge your devices and provides soft lighting for the teepee, the private bathroom and the terrace. 🌿 Your luggage is taken to the tipi in a small electric cart, so you don't have to carry your suitcase. 🥐 Breakfast is included, served from 8:00 am to 10:30 am, either in a basket to take to the tipi or at the table in the Manor House with the other guests. On the menu: pastries, hot drinks, juice, yogurt, charcuterie, cheeses, and a selection of jams and juices from local producers. ☕ A Nespresso machine and a thermos of hot water await you in the tipi. 🚿 Private bathroom: shower and composting toilet.
