Description
Step into the timeless charm of this beautifully restored 16th-century cottage, nestled in the very heart of Castle Combe, widely celebrated as England's prettiest village. Blending centuries of character with modern comfort, this enchanting retreat offers a true home-from-home experience, where original features, stylish interiors and thoughtful touches create a warm and welcoming escape. The space Generously proportioned throughout, the cottage provides spacious accommodation for relaxing, entertaining and making lasting memories with family and friends. Outside, a delightful cottage garden offers a peaceful haven to unwind, with the rare privilege of direct access into the picturesque grounds of The Manor House beyond. Whether you're exploring the village's honey-coloured streets, enjoying leisurely walks through the surrounding countryside or simply soaking up the tranquillity of the garden, this exceptional cottage is the perfect base for an unforgettable Cotswolds getaway. The beds are super king and fitted with White Company linen and fluffy white towels. Both bedrooms have the use of guest bathrobes and slippers which you'll find in each bedroom along with a midnight snack. Corbett Cottage is a fully functioning home from home filled with antique art and vintage finds including my beloved pottery collection which you'll find spread about the cottage. The kitchen is fully set up with a larder you are more than welcome to help yourself to. Fresh butter, milk, orange juice, biscuits, bread, eggs, local village honey and homemade marmalade will be ready for you to save the early morning trip out for sustenance, or perhaps a late arrival supper. The range cooker is turned off in the summer months, please let me know if you would like this turned on for your stay and I'll have it warmed for you. Otherwise there is an induction hob and electric oven. There are a couple of very low doorways into the Dining Room and the Study so please be careful when walking about the house and tread slowly down the stairs, they are not the most generous! You will find a guest guide in the Kitchen full of walks, places to visit and recommendations for dining. You'll also find instructions on heating, keys, hot water etc so do familiarise yourself with the house. Corbett Cottage in all her 600 year old glory has her quirks! There is a picnic basket and wine cooler basket in the kitchen ready for you with beakers, cutlery, napkins and plates. Across the road from Corbett Cottage sits The Little Picnic Shop where you can order all you need ready prepared for an outdoor feast. We are very fortunate to have parking and direct garden access into The Manor House grounds and facilities behind us. Walk through the garden gate and you're into croquet on the lawn, walks for miles along the Brook, fine dining, afternoon tea, superb golf and cocktails by the fire. Guest access Guests take over the whole house and garden.
