It has 2 double bedrooms with the addition of a small bedroom with a single bed for a total of 5 beds, a bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a large living room with a fireplace, equipped with independent heating operated by a programmable thermostat. The entire property is part of a natural eco-museum distinguished by the Toce River and the surrounding woods, an attraction for mushroom and chestnut hunters, but above all interesting for those seeking spiritual serenity, meditation combined with physical well-being provided by walks in the woods and the personalized treatments offered by the Terme di Premia, a spa characterized by the high properties of the natural therapeutic thermal water. Your stay here will be an irreplaceable life experience for you. In the beautiful scenery of Lake Maggiore with its islands, Isola Madre, Isola Bella and Isola Pescatori surrounded by the Alps and Prealps in the triangle of Verbano Cusio Ossola, you will find our Relais Le Primule, and more precisely in Ossola, Municipality of Premia in Val Antigorio and Formazza a few kilometers away from Verbania, Domodossola, Stresa, Switzerland. Milan Malpensa Airport is about 110 km away by highway. The area is wedged in the Swiss territory of the "northern triangle" of Ossola: the landscape is characterized by the presence of the Toce River that runs entirely through the valley, divided, however, into two culturally distinct entities. The Antigorio Valley is Latin and Romance, while the Formazza Valley is Walser and German. Walking along the Val d'Ossola from the south, you come across the so-called "Antigorian Riviera", which is a strip of villages located on a gentle slope and facing east: they are Mozzio, Viceno, Cravegna, Crodo, Baceno and Premia. The latter is the economic capital of the valley and is home to the most famous spa in Piedmont. Until 1941, gold was mined in the valley: the subsoil is in fact rich in mineral varieties, so much so that Ossola is considered the most important mineralogical district in Italy and hosts the Museum of Earth Sciences, at the Gnocchi Study Center, in Crodo. Entering the territory of the Val Formazza, you descend into a different dimension: only in 1920, in fact, was the valley well connected to the rest of Italy by a "rotabile" and this substantial isolation, which lasted for centuries, made it possible to maintain a strong cultural specificity. The buildings are dominated by the "serizzo", a dark-colored stone used both for the houses and for the monuments of the area. The natural landscape is characterized by forests, pastures and alpine lakes while the human environment is strongly influenced by the Walser culture. The customs of this population, which migrated from the lands of Valais in the 12th century, are codified in the Thalbuch. Formazza is the collective name that gathers nine hamlets, all inhabited: Ponte is the historic center and is the ski resort of the valley. The most interesting naturalistic emergencies are the Rio d'Alba waterfall, the Sasso di Premia, the Orridi di Balmafredda, S.Lucia, Arvera, Balmasurda and Uriezzo. The latter, dry and open to visitors, consists of a series of circular cavities in the rock and extends for about one hundred and fifty meters. Also interesting is the Walser village of Salecchio, now uninhabited but animated, during the summer, by numerous recurrences. Above all, however, the Toce Waterfall stands out, known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe. 143 meters high, it was the destination of illustrious visitors such as Richard Wagner, Gabriele d'Annunzio, or the Queen of Italy, Margherita. The waterfall is only open in the summer months: throughout the year its waters are exploited for hydroelectric purposes. Popular hiking destinations are the Orridi di Uriezzo, the Alpe Devero, Salecchio, Alpe Vova, Lake Kastel and Toggia, etc., etc. Guest access Its main connotation consists of the extreme ease of reaching it combined with the general context, consisting of views of wide mountain pastures and mountains above the Toce river, famous for its waterfall and the artificial lake of Piedilago, the basin of the enel that feeds the hydroelectric power plant of Verampio. The property has a large garden for outdoor activities, as well as indoor parking. The Piedilago hamlet, consisting of a small group of buildings, has the prerogative of a very quiet and evocative corner, for those who wish to spend a stay in absolute serenity away from the typical disturbances of very populated areas, but with the advantage of reaching restaurants, shops, services, etc., in the municipality of Premia in a few minutes.
