Joji & Alisi's Place (Manqewa Room) Scuba too!

On offer is our “MANQEWA” room, one of four private rooms available in our family homestay (see Cobia, Yavu and Yanuca room, & Tovuka private house). Each room has access to shared bathrooms and toilets, commun lounge area, verandah and kitchen. We are located in the beautiful Rakiraki Village, surrounded by the mountains and the ocean. We have a range of water and land activities available too, and our own diving center. Our place offers a true Fijian experience full of Fijian adventure! The space As you are living in a village, you will get to experience true Fijian culture and hospitality! You will get to experience local people and taste the local cuisine cooked by Alisi. Our dive shop also offers a gateway to the world class diving that Rakiraki is well known for. - You may enjoy private and semi private dives with our dive master Joji, for a fraction of the prices you'd find at the resort. Joji is a highly skilled diving professional with over thirty years experience as a dive master and instructor. He knows all of the best dive spots. He's also always ready for a laugh and adventure. An unforgettable experience is guaranteed! Guest access There's a verandah adjacent to the private room which permits guests to take in the local sights of our fauna and flora, as well as waving "bula" to village passer-byers. We open our home to all of our guests who wish to be social. We offer access to our kitchen and lounge. It is important to note that we have four rooms available for booking in our large family home so you may have other guests booked at the same time. During your stay We have opened our family home up to guests to offer a true Fijian experience, so we will be regularly available and always ready for a chat or to share a big BULA smile. You will be living and breathing everyday Fijian life but you are assured privacy in your own room. If you have young children they will be well entertained by our children who can play and even take them around the local village sights if they are up for it! Other things to note Our kitchen can be used by guests. Alisi offers delicious meals at $25FJ per person per meal. Meals include Fijian traditional cuisine and Western meals, upon request. We have Wifi and Hot water shower and air-conditioned in the house. As I’m a PADI dive instructor with over 35+ years of diving experience, we can take you diving the famous Bligh Water, well known for it’s beautiful soft and hard corals, seas fans, swim-throughs and tropical fish. You can sometimes see sharks or eagles rays and more ! (350fj dollars for two dives including gear rental, and 320fj dollars if you have your own gear). Open water course is 1200fj dollars and can be completed within 3 days. Diving and other activities should be arranged at the time of booking the room to avoid disappointment. For those looking to explore the surrounding area, we can also arrange a variety of other activities from 180fj dollars per person : - Boat trips to islands & BBQ on the beach - Fishing excursions (including island catch & cook !) - Snorkeling in the beautiful nearby waters - Island hiking - Dolphin watching - Hiking to the famous Nabalesere waterfalls Of course combinations are available ! Discover living in an authentic Fijian village, take part of a Kava ceremony (requires a "sevu sevu" ; 20fj dollars of kava to offer to the village's chief, that can be bought from my neighborhood) *** We have three rooms with air conditioning available for booking in our large family home so you may have other guests booked in at the same time.***
