Le Clos d'Elie – cottage amidst vineyards and scrubland

Located in a converted barn on a former vineyard estate dating back to 1900, Le Clos d’Elie welcomes you to the heart of the village of Fontanès. Just 5 minutes from SOMMIÈRES, renowned for its mediaeval town centre and lively markets, you can enjoy a prime location from which to explore the region. Between the Camargue and the Cévennes, 30 minutes from the Mediterranean, Nîmes, Montpellier, the Bambouseraie, the Pont du Gard and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert... The space The Clos d'Elie gîte is self-contained and adjoins the owner's house, with limited overlooking. With a floor area of 150 m² spread over two levels: • Upstairs: two bedrooms, a large living/dining room, a second living room with a work area, a spacious, fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a large terrace. • On the lower slope, above the living room: a large bedroom with a dressing area and washbasin. Sleeping arrangements include two 140 cm beds, one 160 cm bed, one 90 cm bed, and a cot. All the rooms are spacious and bright, furnished in the authentic style of a historic wine-growing house. Guest access The parts of the house accessible to guests are those indicated in the listing. The entrance to the Clos d’Elie property is shared up to the private car park, which is reserved for guests and can accommodate two vehicles. The fully self-contained cottage is located on the first floor of the house and is accessed via an external staircase. It has a dedicated section of the garden for your use. Upon your arrival, you will be provided with a code to open the gate, as well as a remote control and the keys to the property, which are to be returned upon your departure. Other things to note • 🌼 Garden: You will have a private area of approximately 300 m², which is shaded, grassed and equipped with a barbecue. Please note that it is not fully fenced. • 🛝 Games & activities: The garden is designed for children and adults alike: > Swing, playhouse, sandpit. > Basketball hoop, pétanque sets. > Board games, toys for babies and young children. >  2 children's bikes, 2 adult bikes and a balance bike available on request. • 💦 Swimming pool & sanitary facilities: The swimming pool is for exclusive use from early May to late September, from 10:00 to 17:00 and from 19:00 to 22:00. It is secured by a fence that meets the relevant standards, and the water is treated with salt. A shower area and toilet, located in the immediate vicinity, are available during the same hours. • 👥 Neighbourhood: The area is quiet and peaceful; please help to maintain this tranquillity at all times. • 🐱 Pets: Three cats live on the premises and may come to greet you.
