The house on the hill vibe provides a nice view of Main Street below, while floor slope from its uniquely situated vantage point is a more noticeable aspect of the home’s quirky charm. Loving this Victorian home and embracing its unique characteristics has required inventiveness, such as the newer interior barn door installed on the second bedroom. In the winter the apartment is heated with a Rinnai propane heater. In summer, a portable air conditioner provides cooling, along with retro brass tabletop fans. On the guest apartment side of the home that faces Main Street, neighbors have created an informal walking path down the hill to the frog pond just outside the Cavendish elementary school.
