Downtown Grass Valley Victorian

Come stay in our cozy 3 bedroom, two bath Victorian right in the middle of town! Enjoy coffee on the wraparound porch, grill dinner in the backyard, and walk less than five minutes to all that downtown Grass Valley has to offer! The space Built in 1861, our home is a fine old lady. She's had a long history in Grass Valley, most notably as a boarding house for the men working in the gold mine. Over the years she's been updated (air conditioning! Central heat!) but she has retained her character (and most of her original hard wood floors.) Things to note about the house: -It’s not wheelchair accessible. From the street there are two small steps up to the walkway, one on the walkway, and two more into the kitchen. Low steps, but still. It’s definitely walker-able, with help. There are 11 stairs to the front door if you want to enter there. -There is a small camera at the front door, facing out the front window. This enables us to keep an eye on the front of the house, and it powers the smart lock. -It’s an old house, with original floors for most of it, so the thresholds between rooms aren’t always even, and the doorways aren’t wheelchair-width. -The driveway is narrow. (Most homes in Grass Valley don’t even have driveways!) We have a station wagon, and don’t have any issues, but with two or more cars, you might want to unload luggage at the street. There’s plenty of street parking on the block as well. We are limited to 3 cars per rental per City of Grass Valley ordinances. -We are limited to registered guests only per the city of Grass Valley. We are pretty strict about that. -There is absolutely NO SMOKING inside or on on the property, including the back patio. Please ensure all windows and doors are shut if you use the BBQ. A cleaning fee to remove smoke smell will be charged for people who smoke inside or allow smoke to get inside the house. Thanks! Guest access You'll have access to the entire house, including 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, the backyard and the wraparound porch. If you're lucky, it'll be the right season to eat fresh fruit from our many fruit trees! We've got plums, apples, peaches, figs and grapes, and plenty of herbs in the herb garden, too! The nightly rental rate includes the city-required Transient Occupancy Tax of 10% so you don't have to pay that in cash/directly to your hosts.
