Cnoclochan - Scourie village, sleeps 6, fine views

Cnoclochan is a detached house with Wifi set in its own grounds on a hillside overlooking the North West Highland village of Scourie. It has panoramic views of the surrounding hills and over the beautiful Scourie Bay out to Handa Island. Sleeping up to six, Cnoclochan is a great base for exploring this amazing part of Scotland. Saturday is changeover day. The space Cnoclochan is a detached house set in its own grounds on a hillside overlooking the North West Highland village of Scourie. It has panoramic views of the surrounding hills and over the beautiful Scourie Bay out to Handa Island. There are three bedrooms, one double and 2 twins, sleeping six, plus a single sofa bed and extra single mattress giving additional flexibility - we will set up sleeping arrangements according to your requirements. There is a bathroom (with shower) and the master bedroom has en suite facilities (WC, power shower and large hand basin). The single beds in the larger twin can be zipped and joined to form a kingsize double. There is a well equipped dining kitchen with views on to the village crofts and hills beyond. The utility room contains the washing machine, tumble dryer and spare sink. The main room of the house is the large lounge with dining area (dining table will seat 8) which enjoys sea views over Handa. The lounge contains a log fire, well stocked bookcases (including plenty of board games and DVDs) and a TV/DVD player. This room has a feature wall with a huge map of North Scotland made up from OS maps. Outside, there is an enclosed garden area and a small copse of native trees, with the immaculately maintained (though infrequently used) football/shinty pitch and enclosed children’s play area, a minute's walk away. A footpath gives easy access from the house to the beach and village centre, both around a ten minute walk. For bird and wildlife lovers there is a viewing hut looking over the bay. The village centre has a general store (which includes an off licence and post office), a hotel with bar and an outdoor/fishing shop which also has 24 hour petrol pumps. Trout fishing licences for the local lochs can be purchased here. Guest access You will have access to the whole house and grounds. Other things to note As you can probably see from the pictures, Cnoclochan is not (nor is it intended to be) a luxury self catering cottage, and this is reflected in the price. It is however a large, warm and very comfortable home to relax in and to use as a base whilst exploring and enjoying this truly amazing part of Scotland.
