Cosy Two-Bedroom Cottage in the Heart of Easton
Cosy Two-Bedroom Cottage in the Heart of Easton
Description
A small but perfectly formed terraced cottage in the heart of Easton, one of the Itchen Valley’s most picturesque villages. Less than 10 minutes drive from Winchester, Easton boasts two much-loved pubs – The Cricketer’s and The Chestnut Horse – and its spectacular landscape can be enjoyed on foot, bike, or the River Itchen! The space A Victorian workers cottage, of which the original dwellers would have serviced the local Avington Estate, this charming terraced house was extended in the 1980s to give it a second bedroom and a generous living room at the back. It might be just three-meters wide but there's something magical about this little house; it's peaceful, unexpectedly spacious and wonderfully comfortable. The front door opens into a dining area and kitchen beyond, with a pocket door separating this from the back living room. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, baking and catering for adults and children. The dining room seats six people. There is a very large dog bed in the original inglenook fireplace. The living room has a generous sofa, plus additional seating. The television is hooked up to Apple TV. There is also a retro B&O CD player and plenty of CDs to browse – or it can be connected to your own devices via an AUX cable. The living room opens out to the back garden via French doors. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with an en-suite WC, and the main bathroom. The 5ft beds are extremely comfortable and kitted out with goosedown pillows and duvets and pure cotton bedding. Both bedrooms have drawers and hanging space. The north-facing bedroom has a TV inbuilt into one of the cupboards. Beyond the garden there are two private car parking spaces. If in a car, typically you would park the car and access the house from the back. Guest access The whole house is yours to enjoy. Please be aware that this is a home, so while cleanliness is of utmost importance, there are signs of wear and tear to upholstery etc. The benefit of this is that I'm not too precious about accidental spillages on the sofa and dining room chairs! Other things to note Easton is less than 10 minutes from Winchester train station by car. There aren't any shops in the village, however, Uber can deliver groceries from all of the major supermarkets – usually within the hour.
