With direct lake access & shallow waters, it’s great for families with young children. In "The Quiet Corner" near UCONN, Eastern, Woodstock/Pomfret Academies, Clark + Trinity, wine trail, hiking, antiques & farm stands. Our place isn’t suitable for parties. It is geared toward family & friends getaways. The space The house is a lofty space with 16 foot ceilings and windows everywhere. The house sleeps 8. it has 2 bedrooms each with double bed and a loft with 4 single beds. There are 2 full bathrooms. There is no bathtub only showers. Mattresses are super comfy from Casper and outfitted with down comforters and down pillows. Enjoy the silence in a crisp white room, beds with white linens and the trees swaying outside your window. The kitchen is a cook's dream with a gas stove and all the tools you need to make a great meal including Dutch ovens, a convection oven, and bakeware. You’ll find an extra deep sink, garbage disposal and dishwasher. The lake is peaceful and our patio with a big comfortable outdoor table, lounge chairs and sofas provides ample seating for whatever mood you’re in. The house comes with a library for book borrowing, all your favorite board games, 4 adult kayaks, 2 kids kayaks + a gas grill and a Weber charcoal grill. There's a fire pit with 8 Adirondack chairs. Guest access The house is on a dirt road - so if you're here in the wintertime be prepared for a little snow! The roads do get plowed. There is no public transportation nearby - there is a general store at the gas station that is a mile or so walk up the road. If you want more civilization - Putnam CT is about 25 minute ride down the road which is a cute old town with antique shops and restaurants. Fear not. There is a Target 25 min away. There is parking for up 6 cars (depending on size of car!) The lower driveway is steep. Upper driveway can fit three or four cars depending on cars YOU WILL NEED TO USE STEPS TO ACCESS THE PROPERTY AND TO ACCESS THE LAKE FROM THE HOUSE. THE HOUSE IS NOT SINGLE LEVEL AND THE PROPERTY IS ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE. THERE ARE STAIRS TO THE HOUSE, TO THE LAKE AND INSIDE THE HOME. Other things to note Cameras are located on the property exterior for security purposes. No personal boats are allowed in the lake due to algae concerns. The lake board enforces all CT boating laws and only allows resident boats on the lake to protect the health of the lake. This is NO SMOKING and NO VAPING home. .
