Welcome to our 1966 Scandinavian mid-century modern cabin in the woods . Lovingly renovated inside and out with every modern amenity, and lake views out every window. Located under starry night skies in the "quiet corner" of Conn.- close to CT wine trail, hiking, antiques & farm stands. Pets under 25lbs ok. Max of 7 people allowed on property. No gatherings Convenient to Boston, Hartford, Providence, NY Worcester, Newport, & Berkshires. 25 min to UCONN, Eastern, Woodstock & Pomfret Academy The house is a lofty space with 16 foot ceilings and windows everywhere. The house sleeps 7. it has 2 bedrooms, a loft and 2 bathrooms. There is no bathtub only showers. The kitchen is a cook's dream with an gas stove all the tools you need to make a great meal and a deep sink and dishwasher to clean it all up. The lake is peaceful & the house comes with a 4 adult kayaks, 2 kids kayaks + a grill. There's a solo stove fire pit with 8 Adirondack chairs. PETS UNDER 25 LBS OKAY. THERE ARE STAIRS TO LAKE AND TO DRIVEWAY. IF WEATHER IS GOOD YOU CAN PULL DOWN STEEP DRIVEWAY AND YOU ARE TEN FEET FROM HOUSE. ITS 6 STEPS UP TO FRONT DOOR. IF THERE IS SNOW YOU WILL HAVE TO PARK IN TOP DRIVEWAY AND WALK ABOUT 50 FT DOWN TEN LONG STEPS WITH A RAILING WHICH WILL BRING YOU TO THE SIX STEPS UP TO THE FRONT DOOR. See exterior photos in the gallery the house is on a downhill lot. There is parking for 6 cars (depending on size of car!) The house is on a dirt road - so if you're here in the wintertime be prepared for a little snow! The roads do get plowed. There is no public transportation nearby - there is a little general store/bodega that is a half mile or so walk up the road. If you want more civilization - Putnam CT is about 25 minutes down the road which is a cute old town with antique shops and restaurants. Fear not. There is a Target 25 min away. YOU WILL NEED TO CLIMB 6 STEPS TO GET TO THE HOUSE from the lower driveway. While the two main bedrooms and bathroom are on the main floor you will need to tackle between 12 and 24 steps to get to the lakefront depending on which way you leave the house. We have a local property manager who can come for any dire needs. I am available 24/7 via text and will provide a direct phone number before arrival. We have strict policy of no big parties and there are cameras that monitor the yard. As you know AirBnB has banned big parties. There is no street parking at all. Roads are too narrow. Guests cannot use the beaches around the lake without a resident present so all water access must be from the private backyard. Quintessential New England charm. Our lake front cabin sits off a dirt road in Woodstock Valley - winding back roads, farmstands, ice cream and antiques. Enjoy a kayak ride , drive ti a nearby state park for a long hike or take a drive with the windows open to go pick up locally grown food at one if the many farms in the area. Don’t miss the Connecticut wine trail too! The area is full of breweries vineyards and pubs to crawl! Car or bike is the way to go. If biking here be prepared for a dirt road and lots of hilly paved roads. No parties. No gatherings. No kids birthday parties. No researsal dinners for more than 7 people. No loud music. No smoking. No vaping. No personal boats. Wash your kayak before bringing it in the lake. We don’t want mile foil. The house is on a lake and it's a quiet lake. There are no parties allowed. Cameras are located on the property for security purposes. You cannot bring your own boat and jet skis aren’t allowed- sorry! The lake board enforces all CT boating laws and only allows resident boats on the lake to protect the health of the lake. You need to have on a life vest when you are kayaking or on a stand up paddle board. Vests are in the gray bin in the yard by the shed. Please leave the kayaks where you found them on the racks and vests back in the bin and oars on the hooks. STRICTLY NO SMOKING and NO VAPING house. No smoking and no vaping in the house or on the decks. You can smoke away from the house but are required to pick up and butts/roaches etc. Failure to do so will result in a report to airbnb. Any evidence of smoking or vaping in the house or on the decks/porches will be reported to airbnb and an additional upholstery steam cleaning fee of $600 will be requested.
