The space Step inside the Quaker Freedom Cabin and experience nearly 200 years of character, with original hand-hewn log beams and warm Amish-crafted pine throughout. The cabin blends authentic historic details with modern comfort, including a private bathroom with spacious shower, kitchenette with refrigerator and dishwasher, washer/dryer, Wi-Fi, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s a quiet, distinctive retreat with craftsmanship you simply don’t find in an ordinary cabin. Guest access Guests have full access to the Quaker Freedom Cabin, including the spacious upstairs bedroom—a rare feature for a log cabin of this era. It’s thought locally that this may have been among the first two-story log cabins built in the area. Outside, enjoy the charming front porch, where you can relax and watch the quiet rhythm of village life, including the occasional Amish buggy passing by. Out of respect for our Amish neighbors, please know that they prefer not to be photographed. The large, tin-roofed back porch overlooks the Appalachian foothills and surrounding woodlands, providing a peaceful place to enjoy your morning coffee or a beautiful evening sunset. The spacious yard and the additional lot just south of the cabin offer plenty of room for outdoor fun, including volleyball, badminton, Frisbee, wiffle ball, and other lawn games. The extra lot extends all the way to the rear drive, giving you plenty of room to relax, explore, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
