The Family Room (Kid Friendly)

You and your family can relax in our peaceful basement family room. Enjoy nearby restaurants, shopping, bike/hike trails and much more. Or sit around the patio and fire pit in the back yard. Games and fun for the whole family available too. Continental Breakfast. We’re happy to visit with you outside or in upstairs great room. Of course we will respect your privacy. Private bathroom. We want you to feel at home, however, please understand parties and children left alone are not permitted. The space You will stay in our spacious basement family room. To the left you will find a large comfy couch and fireplace with a large screen TV for a restful evening. Table for four will allow you to enjoy a free continental breakfast, or your carry out lunch/dinner from area grocery stores and restaurants. A kid table seats two. Mini-fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker are also available for your use. The doorway into a large bathroom is also on this side. The shower includes body wash, shampoo, and conditioner as needed. If you forgot any essentials, just ask because we have most items. To the right is the sleeping area with a queen bed. A crib is provided, plus we have a queen size air mattress that we can set up for you as needed. Bedding is also available in the closet, so kids can sleep on the couch. (Our grandkids love sleepovers like this at Nana and Papa’s.) You can also enjoy the backyard with a patio, charcoal grill, and fire pit. Indoor and outdoor games and toys are available for the entire family. Please be aware that the backyard area is also used by us. We’re happy to visit with you, or give you your privacy upon request. NOTE: charcoal and firewood are not provided, but are available for purchase nearby. Guest access Use of the family room and backyard is limited to registered guests only. Parties are not permitted. Additionally, children may not be left unattended. You can park on the right side of the driveway and then take the walkway to the right of the garage to the backyard. Continue through the patio and walkway to your private entrance to the basement family room. Keypad provides you with access when you arrive. The basement stair lights have a master control for on/off and to toggle between bright light and night light. The light at the base of steps has a secondary switch beside it, which, when master switch is on, can either turn the lower landing light on/off or toggle between bright and night lights. When you arrive, we will have the top light set to “night light” and the lower light set to “bright light." The upstairs area is our home and should only be used for emergency entry or exit. For those who like, we are happy to invite you into our great room/kitchen to sit and visit with us. During your stay Hospitality and welcoming guests into our home is something we enjoy doing. We would enjoy sharing time to visit with you and your family. However, we will respect your privacy and follow your lead. Other things to note Located 1.5 miles from State Route 8 Highway with quick access to the Ohio Turnpike and major other Interstate highways. 15 minutes to Blossom Music Center 20 minutes to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. 30 minutes to Pro Football Hall of Fame. 40ish minutes to downtown Cleveland, Metro Zoo, University Circle Museums, Lake Erie, Jack Casino, and more. 10 minutes to the University of Akron. 15 minutes to Kent State University. 5 minutes to Regal Cinema Hudson 20 minutes to Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. 20 minutes to downtown Akron and the Zoo. 20 minutes to CAK Akron/Canton Airport. 40 minutes to CLE Cleveland Hopkins Airport.
