Sugar Bottom Manor | Mtn Leaf Peeping Getaway
Description
Welcome to Sugar Bottom Manor, a beautifully restored historic home nestled in West Virginia’s Potomac Highlands. Designed for gathering, the Manor offers four spacious bedrooms, inviting indoor and outdoor living spaces, a brick back porch, peaceful koi pond, and scenic valley views. Less than 5 min from Swilled Dog’s tasting room and a short drive from Smoke Hole, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, and Dolly Sods, it’s the perfect place to reconnect, relax, and make lasting memories. The space Sugar Bottom Manor is a lovingly restored 1850 brick farmhouse that blends historic character with modern comfort. Whether you’re planning a family vacation, reunion, wedding weekend, or mountain adventure, the Manor was designed for bringing people together. The home comfortably sleeps up to 13 guests in four spacious bedrooms. The Gentlemen’s Parlor features a king bed and private ensuite bath, while both the Ladies’ Parlor and Z’s Room each offer two queen beds. The Bunk Room includes a twin bunk bed with an additional twin trundle—perfect for siblings or cousins. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, spacious dining room (with Nespresso coffee bar), comfortable living areas, and plenty of room to spread out while still enjoying time together. Outside, enjoy coffee on the expansive brick back porch, relax beside the koi pond, stroll the grounds, or simply unwind beneath the old sugar maple trees. Every season Sugar Bottom offers its own unique beauty. In spring, Virginia bluebells bloom throughout the property, summer brings the lush green of the surrounding cornfields and trees, and fall (possibly our favorite) with the sugar maples ablaze with their beautiful orange colors. Sugar Bottom Manor is more than a place to stay—it’s a place to gather. Guest access Guests have private access to the entire home and surrounding grounds, with the exception of the basement and attic, which are reserved for storage. Enjoy the back porch, koi pond, yard, and outdoor spaces during your stay. The historic log barn may also be viewed from the exterior. Ample parking is available on-site. As this is a rural property, please use caution around uneven ground, wildlife, seasonal insects, and poison ivy. Neighboring horses and cows are often visible and are wonderful to watch, but please admire them from outside the fence. Other things to note • Sugar Bottom Manor is a historic home built in 1850. While thoughtfully updated with modern amenities, you’ll notice the unique charm and character that only a home with generations of history can offer. • Cell service is generally reliable for most major carriers, but can be spotty inside. For your convenience Wi-Fi is available throughout the home. • The property is located in a quiet rural setting, making it ideal for guests seeking peace, privacy, and easy access to the natural beauty of the Potomac Highlands. • Sugar Bottom Manor is adjacent to a working family farm. During your stay, you may occasionally see farm equipment or experience the sights, sounds, and seasonal scents that are part of authentic country living. • We kindly ask guests to help us preserve this special home by treating it with the same care and respect they would their own. • Planning something special? Sugar Bottom Manor is available for select weddings, celebrations, family reunions, and retreats.
