Martinsville and surrounding towns are less than an hour away, so this peaceful location is ideal for work or holidays. The space The space feels wonderfully remote and private, yet you are close to many perfect scenic spots. Whether you’re on a short holiday, a long break or travelling for work, this fully furnished home provides all the comforts you need during your stay. We also provide fair-trade coffee and a fresh loaf of home-baked bread on arrival. Perfectly situated for exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, the house is a short drive first to Stuart, Virginia where you’ll find various shops, cafes and restaurants. Many of Stuart’s businesses are women-owned (check out our Guidebook for recommendations). We are 29 miles to Martinsville, 23 miles to Mt Airy, 55 miles to Greensboro Airport, and 57 miles to Danville. Many key features of the region include beautiful state parks (DeHart Park, Fairy State Stone Park, Hanging Rock), wineries (Chateau Morisette, Daring Wine, Villa Appalachia), river tours, and museums (Wood Brothers Racing Museum & Patrick County Historical Society & Museum). Explore during the day and then return and unwind in the house home. Outside: The house is solar-powered (saving on electricity costs) and well-water fed We have 2.3 acres in total, from the front of the house all the way back down to the creek and woodlands, all available for you to explore. Inside, you’ll find a fully furnished home great for travellers or working professionals: • Spacious lounge/living room with a flat-screen Smart TV (including Amazon Prime, Netflix & Tubi), a 4-seater sofa and reclining chair, plus a coffee table that can also be used for puzzles and games. The living room also features a decorative (non-functioning) fireplace • Well-Equipped Kitchen including oven & stove, fridge/freezer, toaster oven, kettle, coffee pot and all the basics required for cooking & dining. • Breakfast & Dining nook & table • Relaxing den with a gas fireplace where you can relax, play games, read a book or warm yourself by the fire on a cold day. • Full Bathroom with combined shower and bathtub. We provide toiletries and towels, as well as a hair-dryer Sleeping Arrangements: • Bedroom 1 (Master Bedroom): Queen Size Bed which overlooks the rear grounds leading back to the forest path. The room has closet and hanging clothes space, dresser, side table and a reading bench • Bedroom 2 (Tree Bedroom): Double Size Bed, side tables and a loveseat. This room also has closet and hanging clothes space • We also have a queen-size airbed in the hallway closet and a twin floor mattress/cot under the Tree Bedroom bed in case your party is larger, and there is sufficient spare bedding and towels for all guests Additional Amenities: The house has Air Conditioning, Full-Speed Fibre Internet with WiFi throughout. Guest access Guests enter through the main private entrance with self check-in via lockbox. The driveway and rear grounds are shared outdoor spaces, while the entire main level of the home is exclusively for guest use. Other things to note The basement level is an occupied, self-contained studio apartment with its own private entrance. Guests have exclusive and private use of the main level of the house, as there are no shared living spaces
