Ustaoset close to Hardangervidda

Small cabin with essentials for convenient access by train or car. Great for cross country skiing in winter (10 minutes to Geilo for down hill). June to October the area is great for hiking, fishing, paddeling, cycling and horseback riding. The space Small and cosy traditional cabin, well equipped and easy accessible by train or car. 1 km walk from train station. There is parking right outside the door if you come by car. The cabin has electricity and hot/cold water. There are 3 small bedrooms, a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. The original living room with open fire place and dining table. The outside barrel sauna is wood fired. There is no TV, but traditional board games and a DVD player. You may find internet available, but there is no guarantee. Use cabin as it is with all you find there. No TV Bring your own linen and towels Clean and leave the place in good condition We live in Bergen , 3,5 hours away by car, or 2:45 hours by train. We will probably not be available, and you will have to find the cabin and open it yourself. This has always worked out well. Bus also possible 10 minutes by train or car to Geilo There is a grocery store at Ustaoset Driving from Bergen takes 3:30 to 4 hours Train from Bergen takes 2:45 hours Grocery store at Ustaoset (1 km away) This is a traditional cabin built in the seventies with a new renovated bathroom and kitchen from June 2025. Guest access You may use the Sauna outside the cabin, at an additional fee of 100 kroner to cover cost of firewood. Other things to note Grocery store at Ustaoset (1 km away). Wood fired sauna-barrel (new 2019) can be used at an additional fee of 100 Nkr each use (to cover cost of firewood)
