Description
An unforgettably unique place for the people you love! Nonprofit educational, eco-friendly farm under 2 hrs from Chicago. 175 acres of forests, pastures, gardens, and creek. Meet the cows, sheep, goats, and chickens. Enjoy tours, workshops & volunteer activities. Buy eggs, meat, and veggies in season. Wild berries. Gaze at the stars and restore your soul. *** Search "Hungry World Farm" for pics & calendar. Ask about discounts. *** Pair with Yurt-style Glamping Tents for an extra-adventure. The space This home consists of two apartments connected by an inside and outside stairs. The lower level 4 bedroom apartment has queen beds, 1.5 bathrooms, and has a pretty big dining room and living room, as well as washing machine and dryer. The upper level apartment has 3 bedrooms with 1 queen bed, 3 twins, and another 2 twin bedroom. This home is set-back from the driveway loop, lawn, Farm Learning Center, resident garden (raspberries, strawberries and flowers) and playground of the Upper Farm. One of our staff has ducks and chickens in the woods behind the house. When leaves have fallen you can see them from the upper small balcony. That is their private area but you are welcome to go up to Sam and Shawna's house. They have goats and chickens (maybe) and you can pet them all you want. This rental also sits next to the trail going to the lower farm aka The Farmstead where all of our cows, sheep, goats, and chickens -- and garden, barns, creek, etc... are located. The front yard has apple trees, small vineyard, and a pretty big space to have your campfire and even pitch a tent. Many groups also like to rent our Yurt-style Glamping Tents for an extra adventure. Search for "Hungry World Farm" for activity schedule and maps of property. THANK YOU! Your farmstay helps us fund our educational and environmental work as a regenerative farm - as well as improving the sustainable, local food system. A portion of our produce and livestock food is provided to food banks. NOTE: Church and volunteer groups. We have a 4 bedroom and 1 bedroom reserved down on the Farmstead for mission related groups who volunteer and/or have special interest in what we do. They aren't fancy but we basically as you to cover the cleaning cost so are very affordable. Guest access All parts except most barns are off limits unless Ok'd by staff. Note the chickens and ducks behind the house are in a private home area. However, the goats (and probably chickens) you'll see at Sam and Shawna's (Host house when you first come in the driveway --- you are encouraged to interact with :) These animals are their own animals. Other things to note We've had over 625 rentals of apartments and glamping tents and cabins (as of June 2026) and have only had three 4 star reviews. Our guests and new friends don't come here for luxury accommodations. They come for an affordable immersive farmstay experience - the nature, animals, and regenerative farming education - and how we treat and support them. They know and feel great that their vacation dollars are being used to support our nonprofit's environmental, farming education, and local food security work. Please reach out directly to "Hungry World Farm" to learn more. P.S. If coming from Chicago, leave early because construction traffic can cause big delays.
