Secluded rural lodge minutes walk from town

Southampton" The Lodge offers private, self-catering accommodation for 1-2 in a rural setting away from traffic with lovely views yet it is only a few minutes walk away from the amenities that the historical town of Wallingford has to offer. The space Away from busy roads The Lodge is in a peaceful and secluded setting, it forms the wing of our home and Tony and I are your only immediate neighbours. As such it is perfect for business people or academics visiting to work in the area or anyone requiring solitude and a relaxing period away. Light, airy and spacious it comprises a large kitchen-diner with study area and easy chairs, a mezzanine bedroom- 1st floor open-plan, a wet room with basin, a toilet and shower and an entrance lobby. The doors to the living room open onto a terrace and formal garden. Underfloor heating and instant hot water delivered by a ‘combi’ boiler make for a high level of comfort and everything required for short term stays is provided. A Welcome pack and a supper/breakfast basket await your arrival. Covid 19: we are committed to keeping our guests safe and we are operating a '36 hour buffer' between bookings so that we might clean and sanitise the accommodation thoroughly in accordance with Airbnb cleaning protocols. Guest access From a shared driveway to the main house. There are two access doors, one via our conservatory (shared) and the other via the front of the accommodation. You are welcome to sit in the garden. Other things to note If you are a smoker please do not book our accommodation: the policy is strictly no smoking anywhere on the premises inside and out. Airbnb policy does not allow booking on behalf of others; only the person who has made the booking is allowed to occupy the accommodation along with their chosen guest(s). Only businesses verified by Airbnb may book on behalf of colleagues. The 'kitchen' comprises a 'domino' hob, microwave with grill function, larder fridge, kettle and toaster. There is private parking for one car at The Lodge. Broadband is available - wi-fi and hard-wired: average 17.5 mbps DL; 1.9 mbps UL sufficient for video/voice calling/browsing. Landline service: available if required. Our twin beds may be made up as a double bed or separated and made up, please let us know your preference when you book. The nearest shop for groceries is Waitrose, in Wallingford. We share the .5 mile private lane to our house with the livestock and arable farm nearby : please be prepared to pull over for the odd tractor driver as he goes about his work.
