The nearby trees and the air circulating around the teepee provide a bit of coolness, even on sunny days (and when it's very hot!). The canvas opens from the bottom and lets in a draft of air. For cooler nights, blankets are waiting for you inside. And if you wish, we provide fans. 🏊‍♀️ Private and unlimited Nordic bath Upon your arrival in summer, the water in the Nordic bath is approximately 25-27°C. In summer, the water heats up easily during the day and is perfect for a refreshing swim, like a small pool. And in the evening (or during the day!), when the air cools down, you can fully enjoy the warmth of the bath. The wood-fired heating takes about 30-45 minutes to reach 40-45°C. Domaine de Thironne brings together several accommodations in one place, in the heart of the Perche. The Manor and its Suites, the independent Cottage, and teepees set by the water. Outside, the estate covers several hectares around its lake. Paddle boarding, pedal boating, kayaking, and boating are available. Hiking trails start directly from the estate, from short walks to long hikes in the forest. Pétanque, outdoor games and a plant maze punctuate the days. The Estate is the perfect place to celebrate, get together, and breathe, where everyone has their privacy within a vast estate open to nature. Are you traveling in a small group? The estate has two other teepees by the same lake. The Nil teepee, like Mekong (this accommodation), accommodates 2 people and also has its own private Nordic bath. The Amazone teepee accommodates up to 4 people (1 king size bed 180 x 200 cm and 2 single beds); the Nordic bath can be added for an extra charge, depending on the availability of neighboring teepees. 🏊‍♀️ The estate pool is reserved for guests of the Manor and the Cottage. Here, by the lake, your private Nordic bath awaits you, heated by a wood fire. 🐶 Dogs are welcome on the property, by prior arrangement. A flat fee of €30/stay will be charged. The property is not fenced, so we count on your vigilance to keep them with you, on a leash, especially near the lake and other guests. Pets are not allowed in the swimming area. Guest access 🚗 How do I get there The Domaine is located in Montigny-le-Chartif, in the heart of Perche, in Eure-et-Loir. Very easy access by car via the A11 and then the Perche roads. Allow about 40 minutes from Chartres (40 km), around 1.5 - 2 hours from Paris (≈150 km), 1 hour from Le Mans (≈85 km) and 35 minutes from Châteaudun (30 km). 🚆 By Train The nearest train stations are Illiers-Combray and Brou, about ten kilometers away. For an arrival from Paris, the most convenient option is Chartres station (≈40 km), connected to Paris-Montparnasse in about 1 hour, or Nogent-le-Rotrou station (≈30 km), also served by Paris-Montparnasse. We can recommend a local taxi from the station. 🚲 By bicycle The estate is also close to the Véloscénie, the bike route connecting Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel, ideal for guests traveling by bike. The Nordic bath is heated by wood fire, not electricity. The water remains calm, with no jets or bubbles, for a moment closer to nature than a Jacuzzi. You go in when it's between 37°C and 40°C, enjoy the warmth for a few minutes, then go out into the open air before going back in. This alternation between hot water and the cool outdoors prolongs the relaxation, with no engine noise, just the crackling of the wood. The included Nordic bath is exclusively reserved for guests of this tipi. You can use it as you wish at various times of the day. 🥐 Every morning, breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. On the menu: pastries, hot drinks, juices, yogurt, charcuterie, cheeses, and a selection of jams and juices from local producers.
