Swallow's Nest (Strawbale Cabin)

Swallow's Nest is a unique strawbale cabin built out of barley straw from the farm, local clay and lime plaster finished in natural clay paints with a sedum roof. This bright and inviting cabin sleeps 2 people and a baby cot and has cosy furnishings including a large double bed with views across farmland and woods beyond. Boasting a veranda and private bathroom and shower facilities it offers privacy away from the main campsite allowing you to truly unwind. You have access to the Glamping facilities and the rest of the farm. Tea & Coffee making facilities are provided in the studio with main kitchen services found across in Le Shack. Note: Infants aged between 0-3 years are Free of Charge with travel cots available. This accommodation is only suitable for 2 adults + 1 infant in travel cot. All pet bookings incur a charge of €12/pet. A maximum of one adult dog is allowed in this accommodation, but if it is a puppy it will need to sleep in a travel crate. Guests are asked to keep their dog on a lead while walking in the main farm area. Guest access Own bathroom shed next door with shower, sink and loo as well as Le Shack our communal glamping facilities area when it's not booked for private events; as well as short walks around the 120 acre farm (please ask for a farm tour) and long beautiful walks along the River Boyne to the bridge at Slane (and up into the village of Slane) and 8km to Navan. Other things to note Covid-19 restrictions - please read before booking! Under the Irish Government's Covid-19 restrictions, we're not able to accept bookings that will infringe on any of the restrictions in place. If in doubt, please send us an enquiry first to let us know what you are organizing so we can assist you further. Pet Booking You are welcome to bring your dog (max small 2 dogs or 1 large dog) with you as long as they have their own bed. There is an additional cleaning fee of €12 per booking for each dog. Hot Tub There is a wood-fired hot tub at the Glamping, which is a field away from the cabin. This is available to one household or pod at a time. Bookings can be made for 11am or 4pm each day (subject to availability) for €45 for a hot fill and wood to keep the fire stoked. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Working farm You will be staying on a working farm and as such you'll meet free range organic livestock (cows, pigs, chickens, geese and turkeys) as well as dogs and cats. Leave No Trace We are also an ecotourism business and as such we maintain a strict Leave No Trace policy on the farm.
