The Big Green House is a Victorian home, built in 1890 that sits in the shadow of the state capitol. Enjoy the beautiful stained glass windows, high ceilings, period wood details and the central location of this classic turn of the century home. *** Please note that there is a studio apartment in the front of the house. Please be considerate of other guests. *** This home has a large yard and deck for relaxing outside, a quiet breakfast nook for the early riser and endless character that groups both large and small should enjoy. Whether you are here for a family gathering or for work, you will have all of the amenities of home, including off-street parking (2 spaces), gas grill, smart TV/WiFi/antenna (no cable) and a dishwasher. WE DO NOT ALLOW PARTIES. The Big Green House is over 3,100 square feet and able to accommodate up to 8 people comfortably. There are three bedrooms upstairs, two with king beds and a third with a full bed. There is a roll-out twin that can be set up in one of the large bedrooms. The living room downstairs can accommodate a queen air mattress. There is off-street parking directly behind the home with TWO spaces reserved for your use. There is additional street parking just around the corner. You are also encouraged to enjoy the back yard and deck. Jen lives less than five minutes away and we both work nearby. We are quickly available with just a call, text or email. We both have extensive knowledge of the area and are able to serve as a resource if you need. We are also good with leaving you alone. :) Walking a few blocks on Edwards to the east will take you right to the Illinois State Capitol. The Big Green House is amongst other houses and as it is close to downtown and a popular park. It's located in an urban environment. The Big Green House is walking distance from the Capitol complex and the heart of Springfield. Uber and conventional taxi service is available and a SMTD bus stop is nearby. The Big Green House has over 3000 square feet of indoor space as well as the outdoor deck and yard for their use. The house is in a neighborhood close to downtown, right across the street from a historic church and a few blocks from one of Springfield's most popular parks. While the house is typically quiet and peaceful, there will occasionally be street noise, church bells and folks walking in and around the neighborhood.
