Lourmarin, which is widely known as one of France's most beautiful villages and residence of the world known writer Albert Camus. The village is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel du Luberon, between Aix en Provence and Avignon. The Luberon valley's reputation for its gastronomy, wine and elegant dining now attracts people from all over the world. Staying in Lourmarin as your base you will be able to take day trips to medieval villages of Gordes and Abbey of Sénanque, the medieval villages of Gordes, Lacoste, Menerbes, Bonnieux, and the ochre quarries of Roussillon. Antiques market at Isle-sur-la Sorgue on Sunday mornings is a thirty minute drive. Hiking and cycling are great ways to explore some of the most beautiful villages in the wine country.
